Congrats.... I got my bimmer when I was 16 too. I'm not sure whether it counts as my 1st car or not since my mother got me a merc on the same day (both bimmer and merc are 16th b'day presents). But it is sure to be damn good to own nice cars young!

I noticed that some of you disagree and think the parents are spoiling their kids. I think how a kid will turn out depends on what values they inherited form their parents and has nothing to do what they get material wise. My parents provided me with a lot of nice things but it doesn't mean that I'm spoiled. I'm still hard working... gets perfect grades in college (4.0)... and respectful to others. And when I'm working, don't think i'm better than others just because I drive a better car to work than the boss. Although I don't really need the money, I still put in 110% at work and i'm constantly applauded for my work ethics.

I understand that most of my possessions are results of my parents' success and not that of my own. However, I don't believe that it's wrong to accept what they can comfortably provide. They worked hard so that I can have a higher standard of living, just as I shall work hard to provide the best for my offspring in the future. I don't see anything wrong in that.

I'm ticked that at 25 I'm getting lumped into a group with 16 yr olds. lol

I'd also be ticked if I were 41 being lumped in with 65+

im 18 but i got my car when i was 17 tho. TO tell you the truth its not that great being that young and owning a luxury sport car. You dont enjoy it as much if it was given to you than earning it yourself. Like when i first got my e90 i was stoked but then again i felt empty cus i questioned myself if i really deserved this car at my age. i couldnt do nothing about it, so i tried to prove myself i deserve this car. I worked hard in school, graduated with high honors and got a job to pay for my own gas and 50% of the monthly payments for the car. Telling you now, its hard to earn money. During the summer, I worked for my mom's company and she placed me in the warehouse. i worked 8-5 everyday. i hated that job and i worked 40 hours a week and getting paid only minimum wage. I wanted to spend my paychecks on mods but with paying for gas and helping my dad with payments and im left with 20 dollars left. Easily, i can ask my parents to give me money for mods, gas, etc. but it makes you feel better about yourself if you work hard to earn it yourself.

i never really asked for a bmw and it wasnt my first choice. my parents got it for me cus they thought i would be really safe, if i got into an accident.

my first choice was an evo ix
2nd - Acura Rsx type S
3rd - honda SI
4th - acura tl type-s

well congrats to your new car op

I should have had my car by now, but won't be getting it for a couple of years possibly. Life is so unfair at times .
