Amen.

Its called the food chain people. Humans as a race are omnivores which means we eat both Meat and plants. When we were being chased by animals back in the day, we fucking killed them then ate them, thats life. Its one thing to kill an animal brutally than it is to kill it quickly and painlessly for food.

I really don't see how killing an animal makes it morally correct or reasonable compared to skinning an animal.

We chop their heads off, tear them into pieces, train people to study how to cook these stuff to achieve the best taste possible, and we even throw away the left overs because we think it wouldn't taste the same the next morning.

^^
That to me is cruel if we think for the animals.

Same goes with skinning animals just to get their fur.

Same shit to me, just presented in different ways...

Pull your head out of your ass for a second.

Killing an animal humanely =/= skinning an animal alive.

When we kill an animal, like a cow, 99% of it is used, almost nothing goes to waste.

Nothing wrong with culinary arts. I don't throw away leftovers and don't know anyone who does.

Name calling really makes you right in an argument...Good Job!

When killing it, nothing goes to waste, but if you've been to any kitchen of any restaurant, you'll know how much food they waste.

If someone was trying to kill you, cut you into pieces, and stuff seasonings inside you, I'm sure by that time the word "cruel" might finally come to mind.

Bottom line, if skinning an animal is cruel, I don't see how animal slaughtering is at the other end of the spectrum.

Its not so much about skinning the animal, its about them doing it while theyre still alive. If you honeslty think that what they are doing in that video isnt wrong than you are a fkn moron.

I said in my first post that it's wrong, I'm just going off topic to say animal slaughtering is wrong also.

They skin them alive because it makes the hairs rise.
If they killed them first, the hair would stay flat, and people don't want that on their Canadian Goose jackets ...

they skin them alive because of several reasons. Just facts not trying to help either side.

1. The fur is worth the most when its in 1 whole piece without any cuts. Therefore they are simply maximizing their profits.
2. It takes a whole lot more resources, time and energy than you think to humanely kill an animal without destroying their fur first. Especially for a small operation like a cart on the street. So to put it crudely, you are just watching capitalism at its best.
3. Im pretty sure doing things efficiently and been able to provide for their families means more to the fur traders than the welfare of the animal. They are just trying to make a living (in a very mean way, but nontheless making a living, and its better than robbery and murder).
4. PETA will go to great length to do what they do, this video was "set up" in order to gain support for their cause, and what you just witnessed, PETA calls "collateral damage in the war against animal cruelty"
http://www.consumerfreedom.com/news_...hout-a-license

They skin the animals to sell the fur. And guess where the majority of the furs go to? Not China! Where there is a demand, there is supply, don't bitch at the suppliers.

A little unrelated, but regarding the vegan debate. People (especially Americans) are generally very self righteous and tend to object to things that doesn't fit nicely in the American culture. And try in great extend to literally force their ideals on others because we think our way is always the right way.
For example, I have heard all kinds of shit talking from people regarding that Asians eat dogs. Now I personally don't eat dogs, and I have a dog. But I got nothing against people who eat dogs. So long as they don't eat my dog. Because that's their culture and its got nothing to do with what I believe in. And i respect their shit.
Why do we (Americans) think eating dogs is wrong, because they have fur? because we have 1 at home? If you really think about it, its really selfish for us to point at a Korean and say your sick for eating dogs. Well what about beef? Cows are gods to certain Indians (country) and what do you say to an Indian that points at your steak and call you a godless dick?

Vegans you don't like eating meat, then fuck off, you don't have to, and the rest of us Omnivores don't need a lecture from you about the evils of meat. DON'T FORCE YOUR IDEALS ON US.
Carnivores, theres no reason for you to call vegans pussies and ****. Thats unnecessary and is the first sign of small dick syndrome. And don't try to explain why eating meat is good. DON'T FORCE YOUR IDEALS ON THEM.
Don't pass judgment unless you wish to be judged as well.

Awful awful awful. There's nothing preventing these people from sending a .22 cal (costs $.10) round through the skull of the animal first. Typical Han Chinese. These dirty motherfukers are just 5 degrees away from the mindset of a serial killer.

First of all dumb mother fucker, guns and ammo is illegal in china, so YES there is something preventing these people from sending a 22 thru their head.

Second you racist mother fucker, how the fuck do you know they are Hans, you're just full of fucking magical skills and can just tell they are Hans right. Because I fucking can't, they are not speaking mandarin. Do you understand what dialect they are saying? Do you see their faces? so how about you shut that racist cock sucking mouth of yours before more fail comes out

First: The Hebei Province is 96% Han and it surrounds Bejing. So in all likelihood they are Han.

Second: I don't give a shit whether it's legal or illegal for the populous to own a weapon in China. I'm sure the ChiCom gov't could spare a soldier or two to perform the execution.

Third: Those who torture animals are only 5 degrees from being a serial killer and I can't think of any culture, past or present, in this world that treats mammals like that.

Fourth: I have a suspiscion if I said Tibetan, or Uyghur you wouldn't be soo vocal. An asian calling someone else racist..talk about the pot calling the kettle black. HA HA HA HA.

Great post. As an open minded Chinese-American, I whole-heartedly agree.

You seem to be doing it more than samwoo, buddy. You're basing your argument way too much on personal opinion/morals/culture. While you're bashing the Chinese for doing this, why don't you bash other governments for not placing an embargo on Chinese furs because of cruelty to animals?

Also about your third point. Didn't we nearly hunt Buffalo to extinction? We also did quite a number on beavers from what I remember.

I don't believe it's wrong. I don't agree with the practice, but it's clear they do it for a reason.

What's that event in your sig?

---
I hate seeing "better than thou" hypocritical BS. Since everyone here should now know they are skinning animals alive to maximize profits, how can you berate them for wanting to make money? Is it against the law in China?
