VIP Style is the typical term thrown around for a large (usually) Japanese sedan that's been dropped and is rolling on large wheels.

This "hellaflush" mess is about people trying to push the rims out to the edge of the fenders as much as possible.

I don't mine the VIP Style when it's not taken to extreme, but having tires rubbing is just dumb IMO.

I see it as the opposite. Bags let you dump the car for looks when you want to, and keep it absolutely driveable the rest of the time. I'm doing bags on my '63 Mercury Comet custom project becasue i want it to sit lower than my '62 Falcon was, but still be able to get over speed bumps (the Falcon was at the lower limit of useability for a permanent suspension height: no air bags, no hydraulics, no adjustible coilovers. Just 1 1/2" ground clearance at the cropssmember)

Bags on a 60's sled are cool. On a 20xx Japanese car, not so much...
