Thomas Crown Affair is a good movie. And "Smith" would have been a good series on TV, but don't get me started on that.
I'm going for free tonight, and the movie has received excellent reviews. I'm still looking forward to it. Had I had to pay for it, though, I know I wouldn't go. I never go to the movies anymore.

I'm back from the movie. If you're a fan of Texas Hold 'em, then you'll like it. The card scenes go on and on. It's a long movie and drags 3 or 4 times. But it is good -- much, much darker than previous Bonds. This guy is believable as a killer, and when he gets beat up, he is dirty and bloody and has cuts and scars to show for it through the rest of the movie. Overall, a 3.5 on a scale of 1-5. Better than the past several Bond movies, and one of the most believable Bonds ever, but I'm still a sucker for the Sean Connery movies.

This movie was the Bond... (he he)
Watched it last night, I liked it and agree with the comments about it being darker and more realistic. I liked Brosnan too but he's more refined than Danial Craig. I gotta pick up a Sean Connery one and check it out... for some reason I can't picture him as Bond although many ppl think he was the best. I haven't watched too many of the oldies.

ninjaneer...sean connery defined the persona of james bond, he came up with the martini line. Start with goldfinger one of my favorites as it was also the debut of the aston DB5

Goldfinger is the best. Then From Russia With Love, then You Only Live Twice. All good movies.

Saw this movie last night, and liked it a lot.
Sean Connery, of course, was a roguish character with a nice balance of wit, charm, and looks. In short, he was an elegant smart ass. Only he could pull that off as well. George Lazenby was too goofy looking, especially with a skirt. Roger Moore was good, but a bit too much of a sissified Bond with his character, and eyebrow action. He had a Felix Unger (The Odd Couple) way about him that I didn't like. Pierce Brosnan too had a Roger Moorish thing going on, and Timothy Dalton was the weakest, most boring of them all. Daniel Craig's portrayal had a nice rough edge, somewhat reminiscent of Connery's character, but his casted role in this movie had a dark and violent realism to it. No more comical "Jaws" or "Pussy Galores." Yet, belying this rough facade was a satisfying glimpse of a smart, synical, and arrogant smirk that he seemed to pull off well, especially at the end. I think it would be easy to "dress him up" into the refined tuxedo-wearing character of previous Bonds, especially that of Connery's. IMO, all other Bonds that followed Sean Connery's role were cast too wimpy. In subsequent 007 movies, I'd like to see Daniel Craig's portrayal less brutal--this gets a little tiring after awhile--and more of the refined, traditional 007 character, with the fun stuff ("Q," some gadgets, witicisms, etc.). After seeing the movie, I read a few reviews of it, and the unrefined character of Bond apparently is part of the original novel (I've never read any of them). This is Bond's very first assignment as a "double 0" and he is just developing his wit and sophistication. He's still a bit of a brute at this point. Given that backdrop, I think Craig played the character perfectly. I do think it's worth seeing, even if the Aston Martin didn't play a major role. I'm looking forward to more Bond movies with Craig in them.
