Wrong. PayPal won't do anything. They are the absolute worst when it comes to consumer protection. I'm really surprised that after all these years and all these scams it isn't common knowledge now.
Same situation, different scam: I bought a radar detector from a member. I confirmed with the member beforehand that it was in new/excellent condition. Received it and the face was all f'd up as if it had been dropped on a concrete curb numerous times. I filed a claim with PayPal and they basically told me to F off, no proof that the seller did it, and closed the claim. You should always pay using a credit card and not a direct transaction through your bank when using PayPal. When someone rips you off, file a dispute with your credit card company and they will do a chargeback which will really get PayPal's attention because now they are the ones footing the bill. Just make sure you never leave a balance in your PayPal account because they have the right to dip into that. They cannot dip into your bank account/credit cards without your consent Moral of Story: PayPal sucks and I try to avoid it like the plague when possible |

So after looking at the thread again I realized that he didn't say they were brand new and I assumed. But he did say he never installed them. Damn it I should have asked him what the condition was. I don't think I have an argument. But I think you guys will agree the post is misleading. So are the pictures. I'll post pictures of the cracks when I get a chance. In the pictures they look perfect so I didn't bother asking.

Here are pictures of the cracks. Well of the ones you can see with a camera. There other, numerous, spiders cracks all over. Even if I didn't ask about the condition, at least the first picture is something you have to mention.
You can see the touch up paint. Good luck.
Currently going through this with a forum member winhath17. Sold me a fubar trunk that was also not packaged well and further damaged in transit. Paypal won't do a damn thing and closed my dispute since it wasn't an Ebay transaction. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=367204 800 bucks - poof. ________ Comand APS Last edited by stimpy; 02-04-2011 at 07:29 AM.. |

Wow. Sorry to hear that. I think my scam is alittle different though. Your trunk was mostly damaged in transit, correct? The person who I bought the splitters off of knew they were messed up because he tried putting touch up paint on it. The box got here with no damage at all and they were packaged fine. As you can see in the original thread, the pictures were taken from far away. In the pictures I provided you can barely see the cracks.

If you had used a credit card, your credit card company would have simply reversed the charges to your credit card and you would be out 0. |

reminds me of a real story that happened to a friend in college. So my friend was in the same situation with a neighbor talking on the phone. My friend lets it rip and the guy also drops his phone. Once my friend heard the plop sound of the phone dropping in the water and the cry of "OH SH!T" that followed right after, he didn't want to stick around any longer. So he wiped and walked out without ever looking back.

It's slightly misleading I guess, but the splitters in the original thread are the same ones you received. You can see the blob of touch up in the third picture. Sorry man, but I don't think you'll win this one unless you used a credit card and are able to have them reverse the charge.
