I'm studying at Yonsei University and might arrive a day early before check in date, is there a cheap hotel closeby that any of you would recommend? I don't speak Korean nor have I ever been there haha.

My daughter just did the same school at Yonsei University last year. PM me for details. I may be able to save you $$$.

i've been in korea for a month now and i have to say if you want something thats fast and comfortable go with korean air. its a lil pricier than asiana but its worth it. i've flown on asiana many times and service has always been....well not great. i didn't have a problem sleeping on the plane and the free booze option is always nice

I recommend against United at all costs, their coach seats and service is pretty awful. I've never flown Korean, but I used to take ANA (through Tokyo) which was pretty nice.

For speed, I'd go with Korean or Asiana, but for comfort I'd take Singapore, one of the Japanese airlines, or Cathay Pacific.
Not sure what you mean when you said Singapore is the most out of the way? I think they have direct flights from SFO to Korea (ICN)?

My daughter flew Singapore Airlines directly from SFO to ICN last year, and thought the service was fantastic.

Edit: The Singapore Air website shows direct flights from SFO to ICN on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

I want to go to Korea, and while I'm living in Japan I might as well take advantage of the close proximity. Any recommendations on where to go? I don't speak any Korean at all, but I do speak Japanese and English.

Come to Korea and hangout with my fellow study abroad students. I'm going to Japan after the program ends, is it cool if you show me around? I don't speak the language despite having taking 3 quarters of Japanese in College...I know...major fail haha.

Depends on our schedules, but if we're both free, I'd be happy to show you around? Do you speak Korean?

if Cathay Pacific has service and enough Pylons from wherever you are, I highly recommend them

Alright, so I found a cheaper flight via Continental Airlines on cheaptickets.com. Anyone have any experiences with them? Need to buy my ticket tonight or tomorrow !

Korean night life is fun I guess if you know where to go and it actually lasts all night long, not like this 2am bullshit we have in LA. Most of the roads and signs have english so traveling shouldn't be bad but I guess you do need to know the language to get around I guess.
