There is a reason no one buys there cars.
I didn't know 172,969 sales last month( #1 in the US) is nobody..... I also didn't know that having trouble keeping up with demand for the Equinox/Terrain, Camaro, etc required nobody buying them as well.

Oh and if GM built crap, they wouldn't be the most reliable vehicles in my families history.

just because it works out for you doesn't justify the fact that overall they tend to make bad quality cars. The fact that it went bankrupt even after they took our tax money while Ford standing by us did not take a dime of that bailout money just shows how crappy GM is . I would not buy or even be in a GM period.

What was the last GM product you were in/driven? Or you just stating what you said via perception?

GM didn't go bankrupt even after taking tax money, it was a controlled bankruptcy that was planned out by the government. It was the best route to go in saving GM. It would have cost more to fund the old GM until they were restructured then it did to have them trim the fat via bankruptcy by creating a new company to buy the good assets of GM and let the bad assets go into liquidation. Ford avoided the same situation by pure luck. Back in 2007, they mortgaged out the whole company because they didn't have money to restructure and to fund future vehicle development. If Ford didn't do that, they would have been in the same situation GM was in. Trying to restructure with no means to get funds because of the credit crisis in 2008. And it was a big gamble. If they didn't succeed, Ford would be on its death bed as well. Even though Ford's public perception is improving thanks to not taking the bailout, they are still in bad financial standing because of that $28 billion debt while GM has around $6 billion in debt. GM right now is in a better financial situation.

Daimler bought( it wasn't a merger/partnership) Chrysler because they didn't have the funds to fix Mercedes. Chrysler at the time when Daimler bought them was doing well and had a pretty decent cash reserve. Daimler bought them to use that reserve to fix Mercedes. They then neglected Chrysler and that is why Chrysler was in poor condition in 2008. Daimler bought them for the money and left them to rot.

You do know GM and BMW have worked together for a long time right? GM supplies the automatic transmission for the 328i and GM and BMW developed( along with DaimlerChrysler) the two-mode hybrid transmission. It hasn't killed BMW has it now?
