The one I would get is the 360 Challenge Stradale.
In the future all the modern Ferrari's will be the fastes Ferraris we have today, so you'll never be that fast, but the 360 CS will always the one the of the most fun to drive. |

Oh, I fully intend to keep the 135. I love it and always defend it against the
haters out there. I am just looking for another car to buy as that is what I like to do. I got two years left till we are going to try for our first child and once that happens, my priorities will be elsewhere. I am one of the lucky people who have not been affected by the economic downturn and with auto prices having fallen so much in the past 2 years, I might as well take advantage of the situation. ( By the way, I would never buy a used M3. If I wanted one that bad, I would just come down to the states and by one new. They are very cheap down there compared to back home. $71K for a coupe to start in Canada. $58K US is a bargain for us.) |

No No No, by no means am I $$$ man. I am just very blessed. I don't buy things I can't afford and I don't befriend people who think they are better then others just because of what they have or don't have. I have a hidden passion for Masers. They are another car that have an addictive exhaust note.

Make sure major service was done recently or you may need 1/4 of that price (at least) just go keep your warranty, provided the car still even has one. If it doesn't, then I'd say no, strongly no. Honestly, I wouldn't buy a 360 in the low end price range, not because I'm narcissistic, but because all the sub-70k Modena's priced in that range have some major drawbacks.

Everybody has one. I swear those things are a dime a dozen, I see more of those then I do any other sports car. And I know Im in Germany, but still, they are everywhere, even in the States. I went to the Nurburgring over the summer, I lost count how many where there running the track. I gave up after 30 or so. How many Ferrari's were there? 1 I went to the 24hrs of Le Mans over the summer as well, sooooo many Porsche's, and Astons too holy crap. There were a bit more Ferrari's at Le Mans, still less than the Porsche's. |

The 360 is beautiful IMO. I can't believe they have gotten that cheap, but like everyone keeps saying, there are some major drawbacks. That said, I would love to own one.

Not bashing on the 360, but I have yet to meet an owner of a 360 that was mostly positive about their ownership of the car.

360 and F430 running costs aren't that bad, as long as you make a good purchase. From what I've seen an annual service on a 360/F430 that's been driven 2,000 - 3,000 miles costs around $700. That's for oil, fluids, and inspection. The 360 needs the timing belts changed once every 3 years, which costs a couple of thousand dollars. Same as a valve adjustment on an E46 M3, I'd point out. The F430 uses timing chains so no belt service is needed.
Check out Ferrarichat and/or call up Ferrari mechanics to get a better idea of cost. If you live near LA there are a couple of very good, independent Ferrari shops that will probably take better care of your car than a typical dealership. Just be sure to get any car you're considering buying a very thorough inspection. That's how you save yourself from a maintenance nightmare. |
