I currently have all 4 dialed in at about 25% so they are not nearly at their limits, which is great because they never seem stressed or working hard at all. Effortless is the best I can describe the bass. You can't tell in the picture but the left side of the room opens up to my kitchen so there's a huge hole on that side. I am kind of anal about symmetry so I originally decided to get a pair of subwoofers in the front to balance out my lopsided room. Plus, there was a sweet deal on buying two SVS subwoofers together. Then I figured, while I'm at it, might as well put two in the back corners too because there is a large opening in the back of the room that opens up to a hallway to a bedroom and a bathroom. However, to answer your question, I have tried using just 1 at ~80% and it is capable of hitting the same SPL as all 4 at 25% but it doesn't sound as clean. Plus, the bass response is not nearly as evenly distributed as all 4 (or just 2 for that matter). |

Thanks... the red is actually darker than what is shown in the pics. The camera flash definitely lightens up the color.

Kinda hard to tell with scale, but the tv is a 70" sony LCD
Denon gear in the cabinet B&W center Klipsch subs Altec Lansing fronts don't remember what the rears are. They are in the ceiling though, kind of like a salad bowl so you can direct them rather than them pointing straight down.
