Remember this is the full version of Nurburgring, not just northern section loop where SportAuto conducts its test, which is shorter by 0.8 KM . It was also done with two people (professional driver + editor) onboard.

Honestly don't know why you trying to convince everyone the LFA is quicker than every car.

But the evidence is out there, it isn't record setting. There are number of cars quicker in a straight line and around a track.

It is just the facts.

I can respect the LFA on a lot of levels, but its performance for that money just isnt what I'd expect.
Again, as Ive said to you before, it just shows how far ahead of its time the CGT was that this lexus with all the new advancements cant achieve what the CGT could ~10 years ago.

A ZR1 has no chance of touching a GT2 RS. Its the fastest car this side of a Veyron.
Just for your information the MP4-12c is much faster than the GT2 RS. i couldnt believe it either but look at the numbers.

I never said it is the quickest.

I posted that just that it would be very naive of you to believe LFA is at best capable of running 7:38 around just the northern loop when it has independently been able to lap the whole track in that time.

Yes, being on this board for several years, I know very well how much you love Porsches. I can't say that about Lexus. I love the LFA immensely, but rather indifferent towards the other products Lexus offers. Toyota FT-86 might catch my eye.

How much downforce is GT2 RS making??

That is the only thing I can think of in the LFA since it makes 560 pounds of downforce at 200 mph.

You really never know though, it may just take that long for the LFA. It really depends on how it is geared. The z06 is VERY slow at reaching top speed because its 6th gear is so long...this may be the case here. Also aero comes into play here as well. Just so many factors.

....

At the end of the day...I dont really care much one way or the other, but I love the RS.

THe porsche is ugly and turbocharged compared to it; since when is a proper driver's car turbocharged???

hahaha.

LF-A FTW. If only it weren't a Lexus and were a Porsche/Ferrari and looked a little more distinctive ie. 458 Italia style. Technically brilliant.

Are you kidding me? the GT2 RS is clearly more of a "drivers" car than an LFA. I'm not sure what your definition of a "drivers" car is but the GT2 RS's performance is much more dependent on the skill of the driver than is the LFA. Not to mention the Porsche has much much much less electronics. The LFA may seem great and its individual components are nice and all, but when you put them all in a package the performance is lacking for a 375k car.

Really now???

Because the GT2's engine is in the back and the weight bias makes it more difficult to drive, it's more of a driver's car???

Please do some homework and see what the actual race car driver's or automotive journalists who do this for a living comment on this car. Many of them have stated the LFA is one of the most involving cars they've ever driven.

Even if the ZR1 is tied with the LFA, so what? Do you really feel that the ZR1 is a comparable car to the LFA?

There will always be comparisons between exotics/supercars and those that are better "bang for the buck". The reality is that most people buying an exotic care little about what the better priced options are. They are buying what they want, because they want it.

Most people will never even drive an exotic, never mind be able to afford one so there will always be the inevitable comparison to lower priced cars. People are, of course, going to try to poke holes in cars they will never be able to own and try to bolster ones they think they might be able to afford some day.

It is interesting that the actual production cars are showing higher dyno numbers than any of the test models. Maybe Lexus realized they were underpowered and increased the tunes on the ones that were delivered to customers. Will be interesting to see.

I do fully agree with you that the GT-R does amazing things performance wise. I drove one on the track, back to back with a Murci, Italia and a Scud, and it is an amazing car at it's price point. Is it a true supercar? Not a chance, imo.

See we can agree on something once in a while.

I'm guessing you've driven both?
