not at all... i have removed close to 700 myself deceased from nursing homes, hospice facilities or homes...a body that has passed has def passed. never an ounce of movement at all. certain cases require an autopsy and if you have ever seen the remains of an autopsy you would understand how a body really is a shell and a soul is what we remember.

we work in the inner city, we dont profit as you think the suburbs do, the market doesnt bear the money....alot of people dont have insurance and they take collections around the neighborhood to pay for the service. we really offer basic reasonable service...

our market doesnt believe in cremations. we serve mostly catholics and the church doesnt believe in the cremation.

we dont have an oven...we pay a crematory only 200 to cremate remains...all fully disclosed in our pricelist...

race? lol....hard to say...we work in the inner city...north philadelphia...we work in poor community...black white asian latino...and the poor treat the funeral service different...they dont call it a casket, they call it a box lol....i have seen gun shots at cemeteries in memory, i have seen processions lead with dirt bikes and quads,,,

we have had several car accidents/motorcycle accidents where heads are not there, just a mound of mesh, hair and teeth...not like hollywood at all!...families demand to see this sometimes and i have them sign a paper saying pretty much "um if i pass out and my mind gets fucked up for life for seeing my brother without a head i will not hold this mortuary liable"

i fucked up in college, i admit, but i am paying for my own mistakes...parents didnt pay anything...after my second year i started in the family business...my father started the biz back in 1977...before i was even a thought...

now i love it...i love the appreciation...and it teaches you how to live...you can party your ass off in your 20s and 30s and develop an addiction and wake up at 40 with a heart condition or liver disease...you can be at the club and yap to some girl and get shot when you are walking out for "disrespecting" the boy-frann lol...get some drinks and get in your car and wrap it around a tree! this is real life

stored? on its side in a wine rack its entire life...it wasnt in its own chamber with activated carbon particles to reduce humidity lol....

And, yes I know if you google it you'll see prices in the $2000 to $2400 range, I assume it's a 750 bottle. But that's from well established dealers. Auction houses see prices that I am offering on average pretty frequently.

How can I promise it will be good? I don't know much about wines but I know this is valuable....I'm not looking for 2500 for the bottle but 350 is somehwt under what I expected...

matthew's point is valid, if it wasn't stored well, it becomes an average liquor store bottle of wine virtually. There's a reason why wines of that price range are stored in several thousand dollar temperature controlled environments.

the point is credible but the logistics of the transaction seem iffy....i send the bottle to you and wait til you have an opinion? you want to come to philly and taste a sip then make an offer?

It's pretty simple really, if you want to guarantee it, I send you the $750, send me the wine.. I sit down with it, drink it, if I call you and say it's bad you send me my money back, if it's good I won't call you. It's really a trust thing. Since you're not actually into it for any real investment, nor does it seem that it's got any real sentimental value to you the only on that's risking anything in the deal is me and my $750 that you might not send back if it's bad..

I will speculate, the likely hood that you got a single bottle of wine from your grandfather that's still good is pretty low. Unless he had a rather large collection, I am assuming that this sat on a shelf somewhere for many many years. That assumption holding true, it's pretty iffy that it make it intact and that it has not turned. Now if your grandfather bought the bottle new when offered publicly, has it stored in an VinoTemp or other such storage device then we can make some other assumptions, but I also have to assume that you'd be listed far more bottles than one here for me to buy up from you.

You might be better off taking the $400 offer below for a blind purchase.

Depends on your idea of valuable... Lafite is pretty common and not really that expensive. It's definitely not cheap table wine, but it's not something a collector, or a connoisseur would consider particularly valuable or special. From that same year if you were talking about a Chateau Margaux or Montrachet both get well over $10,000 really quick and there's a ton of obscure, but wonderful wine from Pauillac which can also get pretty pricy.

Dont get me wrong it's good juice and it's got a name that's well known, I would almost liken it to Crystal champaign sans the rappers... It's just got a name that people know and are willing to pay for, which is why it's never a good buy in a restaurant where they charge 4x for a bottle, vs a standard 2.5-3

Additionally I'm going to assume your grandfather lived in the phili area as well? With that in mind pretty much some guaranteed massive temperature fluctuations.

If the chinese idea mentioned above is actually a possibility, I'd say try that? I have trouble believing that as something like a wine bottle would be pretty easy to fake and the chinese with their lack of intellectual rights and whatnot I could see easily faking the bottle itself.
