I put the OEM BMW car cover on and Sandy keeps pulling the back part off. It gets annoying having to go back out there to pull it back down.

It's ugly watching that ocean surge run down the streets. Water pouring into the (future) basement of the memorial is scary.

You all need to trim some of those big ass trees away from the power lines. I like maple syrup as much as the next guy, but prefer it not be cooked with electricity.

Stay safe!!!

Can't believe the last post was on 10/30 on this thread. I have it better than most in NY and NJ but I've officially been without power for a week. It's 52* in our house. Had the fire going for 16 hours and got it up to 70 in the living room and within an hour of it going out, the temp was back to the mid 50s. I still have my house and I still have all of my stuff and for that I am very thankful but it still sucks.

We had a tree fall across our street (a dead end) cutting off about 10 houses. The pole broke and the transformer fell and exploded and proceded to spark and burn in the street for about 2 hours. Fire department took a look and drove away. It was a scary night and we didn't get a drop of rain. Our city was 65% out and is now down to 4% but we're in the 4%. Just venting...

Still over 200,000 homes out on long island. I've been out since Monday afternoon. Even worse is the gas lines, people waiting 4 hours to get gas on mile long lines. It's like Mad Max here.

We have gas lines here as well but it's mostly NY plates at this point. Our tree has since been moved by our neighbors who are contractors but barring their industriousness, we would have been trapped for a week and counting. I am well aware that we've made out comparatively well but it's going to get colder each day this week and my wife is one grumpy camper. You LI guys have it really bad after the NJ people. This has been a crazy storm... never seen anything like this.
