Every JC class I've taken has been a joke. All of the transfers that got into my school after JCs say that the science classes that they took at JCs are much, much easier than the science classes at their current respective schools.
I tried harder in high school than I did in any of my JC classes.

Junior college is pretty much easier than high school IMO. Less work and less actual class time.
After getting my Associates from a JC, I transfered over to DePaul University. It was definitely more work, but honestly not difficult. But then again I was a Journalism major so most of the work was writing related. |

My cc courses were a variation. We were rates best cc in my state with a hard science program.
Calc based physics 1 and 2 was difficult. Tests had to be approved by the school. OC was also very difficult. Most of my professors are old uni professors. (Or so they say)

It all depends on the professors you have. I was stuck in community college for four or five years without any dedication to any field because I didn't know what I wanted to do.
Still struggling and I don't know whether to go back to school at this late stage. Be dedicated and you can learn from any college you attend. |

I'm sure someone has already mentioned this, but if not, here are my two cents. I graduated from Texas A&M this past August. I took me five and a half years, failing several classes, changing my major three times, and taking a semester off to go to a community college to raise my GPA up. My advice to you is to go to a community college for your basics and figure out what you really want to do with your future. I wasted A LOT of money starting off at a four year university with out a clue of what I wanted to do for my future.
Good Luck. |

and bak to the original topic, i took a few classes at jc and it's not that it's..EASY (i mean it is) but they even used some of the same books we did at ucsd but it'sj ust that at jc over the summer, the curve is INSANE, u get like 25% right and its an A because everyone just does so bad there, at ucsd you get an 85% and it's MAYBE an A- after the curve

It def has a party atmosphere, but the admissions requirements and academics are no joke.
http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandre...ies/top-public Top 10 public school in country. Freshman Applicant Statistics (Fall 2012 Entering Class) Applicants: 55,249 Admitted: 24,622 (45.0%) 4.07 average GPA 1922 mean SAT I score Estimated Enrolled: 4,650 3.91 mean GPA 1851 mean SAT score 41% GPA of 4.0 or above 609 mean Verbal SAT score 634 mean Math SAT score It's def not bad for a public school. It really pisses me off when my dad's co-workers or a random person gives me shit about going to UCSB "Oh that school sucks". Oh, well where'd you go? Northern Arizona, South Dakota, XYZ church's $50k college? Get off the high horse.
