Actually, there wasn't a such time. They were different cars. The first BMW sold in America was the 2002, and wasn't exactly a crap tin can. It was/is an icon. BMW make and sell more "crap tin cans" today than they ever did.

Nice ... my dad had the same car but perl white and it was a split window ... now we have two 1959 Cadis ... one hard top 4 door and a 2 door white convert.

Classic american cars had so much artistic design packed into them...wish they could afford to be less conservative nowadays. Cars are becoming too bland.

I agree 100% ... thats why American Car sales are in the shiter ... poor design ... they are nothing exciting to look at. Why would you buy one when you can get a much nicer design for the same $$ from a Japanese or European Manuf? If Ford brought 1/2 of their European models to the U.S. I believe they would do MUCH better in sales here. The European cars are a LOT better looking and the designs are MUCH better.

now that is pimp...2 59 caddys.......

tell him i got something interesting cooking for my 59....i chopped off the rear end of another 59 and am converting into a trailer fro my 59. picture a 59 driving down the highway pulling a little trailer that looks just like the rear end.

nah...it was a sedan that had serious issue with both front pillars, the front end, no doors,etc. i saved it from the wrecking yard.....it was literally on a flatbed when i talked to the guy.
