Dear BMW M Community,
The time has finally come for the M Community to celebrate the most powerful letter in the world. From 20 to 22 June 2014, again this year I am very happy to welcome you to enjoy three highly eventful days in Germany’s Eifel district. For the fourth consecutive year, M Fans and the BMW SPORTS TROPHY teams will all be meeting at Nürburgring to celebrate the legendary “Green Hell”. Experience this 24-hour race with a spectacular view of the racetrack, no matter which hotspot you happen to be located at. Feel the vibrant roaringof the engines right up close from the M FESTIVAL Hospitality area. The M FESTIVAL Lounge provides you with an outstanding view of the home straight and the paddock. The new M FESTIVAL Fan Base is an excellent spot to shoot fascinating photos of glowing brake discs. Our many faithful fans will be setting up their annual camp right at the Nordschleife (North Loop) in the Metzgesfeld area. On top, our BMW M Power Tower – the highest observation platform at Nürburgring – is again reserved specially for your use. As always, of course, a varied programme packed with fi rst-class entertainment, a host of surprises, exclusive catering and a unique motor racing atmosphere are waiting for you. Haven’t you always wanted to drive around the Nordschleife in your own BMW M? Then don’t miss your chance to be among the lucky winners chosen to be part of the BMW M Corso, which takes place just before the start of the 24-hour race. The starting places will be drawn during the M Night on Friday evening. We’ll be keeping our fi ngers crossed for you! As a special highlight of the weekend, I am delighted to present to you the new BMW M3 and BMW M4 to coincide with their market launching. You can look forward to three days of pure excitement, full of emotion, power-packed adrenalin and plenty of unforgettable moments. ON BEHALF OF THE ENTIRE BMW M TEAM, I WELCOME YOU TO THE M FESTIVAL 2014! Best regards, Dr Friedrich Nitschke President BMW M GmbH and you can do this there too |

autoev.com:
"The 24-hour race at the Nürburgring and BMW Motorsport can look back on a long and successful history together. It was a BMW that crossed the finish line first at the inaugural event back in 1970. To date we have claimed 19 overall victories there,” said BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt. As for the teams, they are showing a list of drivers that are more than capable of handling such a task. Team Schubert, for example, will have Lucas Luhr, Dirk Muller, Alexander Sims and Dirk Werner behind the wheel of the number 19 car while the other Z4, the Number 20 car will be driven by Dominik Baumann, Claudia Hurtgen, Jens Klingmann and Martin Tomczyk. Team Marc VDS, on the other hand, will be backing up Maxime Martin, Marco Wittmann, Uwe Alzen and Jorg Muller behind the wheel of the number 25 car. At the same time, car number 26, on the same team, will be driven by Dirk Adorf, Nick Catsburg, Bas Leinders and Markus Palttala. Since this is a race that will also be run through the night, all 4 Z4 GT3 cars will be fitted with laser headlights, the innovative technology developed by BMW that was also used in the qualifying rounds. For the BMW M235i Racing Cup, 14 teams have already signed up with an extra 15th car being provided by BMW for motorsport journalists Marcus Schurig and Jethro Bovingdon to drive alongside ex-MotoGP rider Alex Hofmann and BMW Motorsport Junior Alexander Mies" |

Here's another shot of the Walkenhorst Z4 GT3 and the significance of the hand prints
Walkenhorst Motorsport and Dunlop assist with their action "children's hands" the start helper program of World Vision in Uganda, which was established specifically for pregnant women, babies and toddlers. It ensures that as many children get a healthy diet and basic medical care in the first years of life. Anyone can perpetuate the # 27 with the name of his child and a colorful children holding for five euros on the BMW Z4 GT3. In this "children's hands-Design" denies the vehicle the 24-hour race in the Green Hell. If you want to join the action, simply must (separated by a space on either name and surname) Send an SMS with the keyword "CAR" and the child's name to 81190 (5 euros / SMS) and the name appears in a colorful handprint (sticker) on the Walkenhorst-Z4. Deadline for entries is action is June 30, 2014 so still diligently Short messages can be sent for a good cause during the 24-hour race. The names collected during the marathon race will then be found in the other VLN race of the season on the car. I've previously posted the factory teams, Walkenhorst, Rent4Ring Racing and Bonk Motorsports lets look at some other entries Meet Team Securtal Sorg Rennsport : Hofor-Racing: Patrick Rehs' 130i GTR (doesn't it look like it's tiptoeing over the hot pavement?): This is the M3 of MSC-Rhön e.V.i. ADAC: and their 1M Coupe: Kornelius Hoffman's black M3 entry: This 325i will be driven by Matthius Trinnius for „NexDe.K.“: and Adrenalin-Motorsport with their few entries:

M235i Racing Art Car livery
"I am very pleased that we will see next to the many BMW M235i Racing, which are used by our private teams, this model also in the starting field of the 24-hour race, The Livery of this particular BMW M235i Racing is fantastic. A big compliment goes to the staff in the design department. The variety of BMW racing cars on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife with almost 50 cars in the field is impressive in 2014. But this vehicle is again a very special touch of color and will arrive certainly well received by the fans. " --BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt and here is the opposite - a stripped down Z4 with BMW Team Schubert's colors

Audi R8 LMS ultra of Phoenix Racing - Christopher Haase # 4 - took P1 in timing in the one and only practice session for the N24.
BUUUT they were second in qualifying. The No. 69 McLaren MP4-12C of Rudi Adams was fastest in qualifying and that puts it in good shape to secure one of the ten remaining positions for Friday’s Top-30 Qualifying, which will set the final grid. Felix Baumgartner - you know him from the Red Bull space dive stunt - came in 3rd for Sp9 in his Audi. # 26 BMW Sports Trophy Marc VDS BMW Z4 GT3 was 4th. Falken Motorsports' Porsche 911 GT3-R rounds out the top 5 from today
