I can't wait for the 135!
Hello, my name is Peter from Roswell, GA. I'm a car nut and have been driving sports cars(Porsche 914, 944S, Datsun 260z, Miata, C5 Corvette) for years and currently have a Laguna Blue Honda S2000 which I find has all the necessities for an engaging sports car. It has rear wheel drive, direct steering and the best shifter in the business. The problem is I now have a few kids and a daily commute.
I have been waiting for a car like the 135i for years. An affordable, tossable, small and fast rear drive coupe with the same engaging feel as a true sports car, but with a real back seat for the kids and a trunk that will hold two sets of clubs. I enjoy autocrossing, so being tossable is a big consideration for me and I also wanted a car that I can drive everyday that gets descent gas mileage. THANK YOU BMW for finally bring the car I have been waiting for to market. The 135 is the right size and price, I find the 335i to large to be tossable for autocrossing and 50 large is out of me price range. The 135 has a proper back seat and trunk compared to true sports cars, and the 135 has the gas mileage needed for a daily driver. The 135i also has a great engine and shifter with great steering feel. To top it all off, it is a real BMW with great build quality and design. I have always wanted a BMW, and almost bought an almost BMW, a MINI JCW before buying the S2000. I found the MINI was a great drive, but lacked the rear drive, rear seats and trunk that I desired. That, and my wife wouldn't be seen in the car. After hearing about the 135i, I started trolling around the web looking for info and found 1addicts.com. I found the forums very informative and your members are true car nuts that have passion for the 135i and it seems great cars in general. I have yet to read any posts that are negitive in natural against other brands or types of cars. This is very refreshing, as a former porsche & vette owner and current honda owner, I have seen both sides of BS that can be thrown around. True car people respect different types of cars, and understand the passion people have for them. Well, I look forward to the 135i and being involved with the 1addict.com forums, both seem to have what I'm looking for in a car and their owners, an engaging experience. P.S. Anybody in the Market for a great S2000? |

Hi all,
Been a reader here over the last month and now an active member - okay maybe not active, but certainly alive :-) Soon to be proud owner of a 135i - ordering it today after hugely entertaining test drive on Friday last week!!! Thanks to all for the great info - I look forward to contributing in the future. |

Been on here for awhile, thought it's time to post on this thread. I will be getting the first batch of 135i coming into Australia in May. At the moment I am getting Alpine White with beige and grey poplar interior. Not 100% sure if the interior will match the exterior. I currently drive a Golf GTI DSG, X3 3.0si M Sport, and AMV8. The 135i is going to be my little track toy.
