I went to the Oakland Zoo today. I didn't get to the SF Zoo as by the time I got there the parking lot was already full, and I didn't feel like doing battle with 1 million strollers. The tigers were not that cooperative, being generally lazy and sleeping in the shade with their backs to me. In other words, just like any other cat on the planet. Still managed to get a couple of decent ones I think.

I don't know if there is anything you can do about the background diffraction but otherwise a success.

Yeah, the background is what it is. The cat was in total shade and the background is high noon sunshine, and I was shooting through a fence. I tried to tame the highlights the best I could, and I am sure that someone who is better with layer adjustments than I am could probably do a bit better.

I would have waited around for better angles and light, but I was getting crowd rage as it was. I totally forgot that yesterday was good Friday and a holiday for many people. I wouldn't have bothered if I had known
