there was also an Italian cycling team - i was watching a race where everyone had to change bike between the flat and the hill climb.

everybody would stop their team car 5m in front of the cyclist (so cyclist can use momentum to go the other 5m) and gave the hillclimb bike set to the correct climbing gear.

Italian team comes along to their world champion. stops 10m behind him, he has to go backwards.

then gives him the bike in the wrong gear and he couldn't pedal (eg 8th gear in a 1st gear hill) and almost fell off.

world champ lost the race by 10s.
