^^Nice Hummer!

I went to take out some recycling tonight and found this little guy behind my blue bin. Very close to a rattler, but the round eyes give it away as a baby gopher snake. I let him be, as I want him to eat as many of the critters in my yard as he can! I would have been fine letting a rattler go as well, but would not have gotten as close with the camera!

This was Saturday. Sunday and today we had constant snow and it's supposed to get down in the 20s tonight. Hope he survives. This is the fourth year that I've seen him defending his territory from the same perch.

We had super clear atmospherics the other night before the winds changed, and are now bringing 100+ temps to the whole area. Dave we would gladly trade your snow for our drought conditions!

I'm going to Yosemite on Thursday, so I was looking through some photos of my past trips. This is from 2011 and there won't be anywhere near this level of water there this year, but I am still looking forward to a couple of days away.
