Interesting squirrel.

I have absolutely no problem moving between my 5D3 and my 7D. When other people (not you) talk about issues in that regard, I have no idea what they're talking about from the point of view of handling, framing and composing a picture. I know they have different sensor and AF performance, but that is what it is and hardly changes the way that I approach them.

Of course, you have to put on the right lens for what you plan to do.

agreed, every AF point in the 7D is cross type too so you know you're probably getting good focus unless you're shooting at something like 1.2 and you havent done focus microadjustment.

Yeah I don't shoot any differently between any of my Canon bodies, and use all of them pretty much equally. That said I sure hope this "new" sensor supposedly coming in the next 7D handles noise better. I get great images out of the camera, but they do take a lot more effort in post than with either my 5d3 or 1dIV...or even my ancient 40D for that matter.

Nice one Mark. I love watching herons and egrets hunt. They just stab into the water and come out with a fish, sometimes a very large one. I am always amazed at what they can swallow with those skinny necks!

This guy has been hanging around the campus ponds for a couple of weeks I guess. I never thought there were that many fish in the ponds. He must be finding some, though, or he'd be moving on.

My 7D's AF is great, EXCEPT in AI Servo Mode, where it's very inconsistent vs. the 5D3. I hope that the 7D MkII gets the 5D3 AF system and much better sensor performance above ISO 800.

I agree. Some 7D defenders argue with me, saying it's wonderful in every respect, but when you work with hundreds of files per week, the differences are clear. The 7D's sensor performance drops off dramatically above ISO 800. I'm willing to sacrifice a little to get that really tight pixel-density, but I'm sure that they can step up their game with the next version. That sensor is at least three-generations old. (I bought mine in 2009).

If they put the 5D3 AF system in and upgrade the sensor to the current generation, I think that the 7D MkII will be an absolute killer camera. I wouldn't be surprised to see the price pass $2,000, but I'd pony up for those improvements.
