Hi everyone,

New to this forum and of course this thread caught my eye. Just a quick intro....

I'm an cyclist riding about 100-150 miles/week. I ride a BMC Race Machine RM01, Ultegra components, DT Swiss Wheels. Also dabble in Cyclocross (ride a Niner BSB) and Mountain Biking (ride a Giant).

if anyone has any rack suggestions for hauling my bike around on myF30, I'd love to hear them.

Welcome!

All of the following carriers will accommodate road bikes to plus size MTN bikes.

I run one of these and love it. https://www.1upusa.com/product-quikracksilver.html

If you don't have a hitch, i'm pretty sure BMW factory roof racks are a nice "touch free" option.

From there, i'd probably look at seasucker.

Almost...

Remember. Aero is everything.

You can't have the slickest bike with baggy clothing.

This last weekend I hit a new 10mi TT PB of 18:24 @ 32.6mph avg.

Last weekend a 25mi(.25 long course) TT PB of 47:43 @ 31.6mph

Where do I go from here!!??

Don't let Stoo fool you. You're not going to put on a skin suit and avg 30+mph over 10 miles, let alone 25.

Considering that time is good enough to take 2nd place in the Essex round of the 2016 RTTC classic series, I'd say pro is where you go.

Oh I'm far from that level. But thanks for the trip

It's funny you link that. My time was done on the same course and only good enough for 9th place. The winner, my team mate, did 45:20!!

I got an invite to ride with the pros on Thursday 5/18 prior to the upcoming Wilmington, DE Grand Prix on that Saturday. Also I will be viewing the opening Time Trial event on Friday in a VIP tent sponsored by Merrill-Lynch. Part of the course goes down Monkey Hill which is all cobblestones. There will be hay bails put in place near the bottom of the cobblestones LOL. The ride with the pros is a 26 mile route with 12 pros riding in a small group. These are not top level pros and the ride will be casual with some good hill climbing. We get a police escort out of Wilmington and lights and stop signs will be controlled by the officers. After the ride we will have a Happy Hour at a local restaurant near the finish line and hang out with the pros and others who do the ride. Then on Sunday we will be riding in the Grand Fondo with pros leading the ride. The start will be the last time we see them until the post ride festivities. Looking forward to it.

If you have not bought anything yet I really like my Saris Freedom for my truck. Can accommodate fat tires even with bigger wheel pans they sell for it! Super solid and locks down.

just got my first road bike.

2009 Scott Speedster S30-Shimano 105

love cycling and just taped my bars for the first time..drooling for a garmin edge 25...

random question...i had a bad fall on a wet bridge, where my back tire slipped out. Now my bike feels it slightly leans the right side, or the back wheel feels woobly. idk wheel looks tru and hub is fine. Think its PTDS

Congratulations! Glad your've loving it so far!

Probably PTDS, kind of difficult for any of us diagnose. My only advise would be to check the brake caliper to make sure it's still riding centered.

If it's an early Stages product, i wouldn't be surprised with that amount of wet and grime.

I kind of wish i would have gone with Quark. I don't ride the trainer nearly as much as i used to. If it looks like rain, i just ride a different day since i'm not training for anything in particular.

Wife and i are heading to Travelers Rest on Thursday; Hincapie territory. Even though we booked before Christmas, we were lucky to get one of the 13 rooms in his Hotel Domestique. Should have 3 days of riding while there, if the weather cooperates. Supposed to be some great riding in the area. The front desk reportedly will upload routes to your garmin or gives you preloaded garmin every morning. Lots of different routes to choose from, short easy, short steep, long easy, long and painful. lol One of the routes has more than 10,000 of climbing in it over 80 miles.

Looking forward to it! Not the last ride mentioned, the weekend as a whole. haha

This particular one is a first gen Stages, I do have nothing but good things to say about it, it's been through hell and maybe finally given up the ghost after 3 years. When i had multiple bikes with power meters, it was just consistent and economical to use Stages. Now that this is the only bike I ride with a power meter though, I think i'll finally invest in a Quarq.

There is a saying in the UK, 'Don't waste your wages on a stages'!

I use a Quarq D Zero on my TT Training bike
SRM on my winter trainer
Power2MAx Type S on my TT race bike
SRAM RED Quarq on my road race bike.

Left leg is just too unreliable for me.

In other news, I did 40km in 46:57 on Saturday just gone.
Blown my own mind!!!

Daaaamn.

I agree, the Stages served a good purpose but it's time to upgrade I think. I'm going to end up using a Quarq Dfour and retaining Shimano chain rings it looks like.

That's fast!

What were your average watts for that 40k? If you don't mind me asking.
