Yeah the lights and grill are going to be the huge question marks here. Gotta pray the 4 series designers were on vacation for this one.

Hate to break it to everyone, but the headlights and taillights are pretty much baked in this close to SOP. Also, M cars never get different headlights or taillights, they just have revised bumpers. The G87 M2 will have the same style of lights as all G42's. Sure, they might have an adaptive option, but that's just the inner components, the rest of the lighting assembly will have the same size and shape.

That being said, the lighting doesn't look bad and most importantly the grills are normal. Throw in some aggressive bumpers and a wide rear end and we could have a winner. |

Overall silhouette of the vehicle looks good. It's going to come down to the details on the panels - BMW is a hit/miss in regards to this.

The G42 does not resemble much of the M3 coupe of the past, but in fact inherits the most if not all of the characters design wise of the E87/F20 hatchback, its ancestor. It's hopeless if you're looking for the old 3 series/M3 coupe successor kind of car.

Same question I have...makes the wheel base look shorter...which makes me wonder about how it will handle in the corners

I don't expect it got smaller than the F2X platform. The F2x some might view as twitchier, which made it a lot of fun to drive frankly having owned an E9X, F2x and F3x chassis. (Shorter than the E46 even).

Can't wait for the camo to drop. The silhouette and overall proportions look really good.

Looks like the hood has an E46 M3 styled powerdome.

That's an aggressive looking hood for a 2 series. Now I've got to see what the G87's hood will look.
