My folks are Maltese so we always ate rabbit, i also started a small enterprise as a 11 year old raising and selling them dressed to my extended family. I was dressing about 10 a week.

It's super lean so many people stew the meat, i prefer to fry in a lot of garlic, good oil and a splash of red vinegar. One can also slow cook in a red sauce and serve with spaghetti and olives.

I prefer it fried also, but if you want it nice and tender then you should slow cook it in the oven. I marinate almost the same as you, but I use red wine instead of vinegar, and I let it sit for a few hours before I fry it.

YEah sorry you are right, marinate in red wine, vinegar, garlic then fry.

It's funny, I have a 10 yr old and I cannot imagine him picking up a rabbit by the back legs and whacking it over the back of the neck with his bare hands like I did. Not to mention then stripping off the fur. Times change I guess.

Yeah times have change a lot. A lot of people eat meat but this younger generation must think that meat is made in a 3d printer . Don't feel bad, I have a 34 year old and 27 and they never experienced what I did growing up. It was a fun day when we had to prepare rabbit's, chicken's, pigs, etc. It was a party back then

One of the funniest stories from my fellowship in Minneapolis was when they relocated a bunch of refugees from someplace in Africa, one of those virtu-signaling things where they took in sevverl families into what was otherwise a rather upscale housing development. For the refugees, the USA is like a food paradise, and they were quite happy with things. It got a little wierd for the locals when one of the older ladies sat on her front stoop of the housing development happy as can be, dressing about a dozen chickens (behading them then hanging them off the ornamental bushes to drain out the blood). Kind of freaked out the local HOA.

Going through some old phone pics... Front doors are usually just under 7' for reference.

The 1st Lt. at our ARVN infantry base had a mascot dog named well, uh, "Dog." Dog's hearing also was incredible. He reliably "cold-nosed" us awake countless times when he heard something suspicious during the night.

Our cat's name is Samantha but we never call her that. It's Kitty, Baby, Sweetness, or just Cat.
