Could be that the 530e is not economical enough to clear some regulation thresholds for subsidies, so they decided to detune it further in order to make it appeal to corporate customers that have CO2 limits etc.

Any information on when can we expect the F90 LCI? Is it safe to assume the same timeframe as the G30 LCI, so July this year?

It's like the F40 and F44 don't exist in a Bimmerpost.

I've never ever seen a new model completely ignored. Yes there was a launch thread etc but why do they not have a section within Bimmerpost odd!?

I would imagine more forum members are from North America compared to those outside of NA, and that the 1 series in general is a lower volume seller in BMW's lineup (although I could be wrong). The G29 Z4 forums aren't exactly lively either, and thats a worldwide vehicle, I guess there are just less non-US 1-series enthusiasts out there.
The F20 1 series isn't sold in IS either and has always had a forum section.

Strange.

With the original i3 known to be continuing for a few more years and the G28 BEV known to be coming soon, the product names were on a collision course. I'm just not sure i330 is distinct enough from 330i given the big differences under the skin. I'll bet they now wish they'd called the i3 the "i2".

"M245i" sounds like a B58 TU2 might be coming.

BMW is far more interested in saving their own ass than the planet. But in any case, I'd ask that you please use the political forum to discuss the topic of EV demand further.

BMW should just go for the grand salami and make it the M250i.

Had a new 118d M sport as a rental this week. It was typical BMW build quality in a front biased car. Nice tech inside for a 1er and drove fine for what it is. It felt bigger than what it really is which was kinda weird, like driving a "mini SUV" versus a hatch.

Personally I'd buy the last gen 1er in M sport 140i flavor with RWD/MT (low KM of course) before the new version (even if the new one "puts the power down" better).

If I were going the non-RWD route I'd do a manual VW GTI

In the UK there is the M135i (again). Like the US M235i this is the B48 2L 306HP X drive car. F40 for 1 series F44 for 2 series Gran Coupe.

Getting to my point now in the UK reviews lots of people have referred to the M135i not being the direct replacement for the M140i outgoing F20z this was the B58.

Thus...there is room in the lineup for a M140i we thought but no, perhaps it is the M145i. Will no doubt be a version of the B47 with hybrid help taking it nearer 400Hp. Still transverse mounting etc as the chassis defines this.

Hope that all made sense.

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see the *50i badge land on the B58 some day when the N68 (presumed name of the next iteration of the V8) is here and moves on to the *55i badge. Or, if we make the assumption the I6's lifespan will go beyond the V8's (which seems reasonably likely) I suppose the sky is the limit in numbering for the I6.

After all, in decades past, both the 30i and 40i monikers originated on V8 models (of 3L and 4L displacement, fittingly). And the 50i nameplate was reserved for the V12.

Right, but the M245i badge is being associated here with the next generation G42 4 Series coupe which will be a CLAR-based offering. So we are most probably talking about a new iteration of the B58.

Don't expect any FAAR product above M*35i anytime soon.

I don't disagree we'll see performance FAAR-based PHEV vehicles sometime this decade. However, I'd expect those to be branded M*35e or perhaps M*40e.
