BUY BUY BUY. With all the horrible economic data out the past couple weeks, topped off with the Wal-Mart doozy from today, there's no chance of a rate hike in 2015, 2016, or probably ever. The pump is getting primed for the mother of all Uncle Ben helicopter money drops.

I am very very disappointed with Walmart.
Analysts was thinking that Walmart will destroy GME when WMT gets into trading/buy/sell used games. However, stupid ass WMT could not even do that simple dumb shit.

The highschool dropout game geeks were right. No one is going to WMT all the way back aisle to electronic to trade games.
WMT should've used Kiosk or small space allocated to games.

OH NO,,, WMT executives said it will cost more $ for space (potential rental income) and labor cost??
Dumbasses.... GME has one of the highest revenue per square footage.

They also need to update their ecommerce sites.
WMT etail sites are so complicated that, I ended up buying few items on eBay. They need to seriously integrate the store availability and integrate it with immediate store pickup. It would be even better if they can intrgrate it to Walmart grocery delivery.

I am scared to short oil, but I am not afraid to go long oil. However, I will feel confident to go long at 39-42 at least for quick fluctuation of price.

As for long run 2016, I think WTI will have less decline than Brent, because lots of shalers will stop the operation. In terms of aggregate market, I think China will definitely slow even more.
Finally, the US market... We got election coming. It will bring political uncertainties to some corporation and go on a safer route.

...So, our CFO is discussing rate uncertainty in our budget meeting for 2016. His 'forecasting' models have Fed Funds increasing 100 bp by YE 2016....

When I asked him if he agreed with this model - because he is our CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER....he says, 'I don't think it will increase this much'....

WTF - you are presenting a model for budget approval and you 'personally' don't agree with the model??????

ONLY historically speaking (not economically), do you remember during the election on 2007 (for 08 election), fed + the 25bp or 50bp increase?
I think fed stalling has at least 5% gotta do with politically driven. *tin foil hat*

I think he's 50 bp high....but he doesn't even agree with the model the budget spread will tied to...

If fed designed the timing with better than expectorated data for 25bp
PLUS,
good time gap for another 25bp, it would not be a big problem.

I believe market is already ready (securities price already baked in) for 25bp at least. This 2015 housing market (at least in CO) reminds me of when Greenspan keep lower the rates starting 3Q1997, because of IMF and intl market. Of course, 1997 and right now is totally different situation.

Would agree that markets have the initial lift in effect, because it was so widely accepted rates would already have jumped...

We'll see - I am probably wrong about where Fed Funds will be by YE16...I just can't see a 100 bp jump in 2016 though.

How can you be so sure?

I agree Janet's not raising rates this year, but what *if* she raises them next year? Okay, say she doesn't raise them next year. Well then there's a reason why and my opinion is it will have to with low growth locally and global, as well as us not hitting our 2% inflation target. With all that said, how are companie's going to report strong earnings with these headwinds? As a certain someone says, "profits are the mothers milk of stocks". You honestly feel QE4 is around the corner? (Not taking sides, just trying to think here)

Rates won't rise until after a new prez is in office. Time to get in on BABA, its going to make a nice run until Nov 10th then dump it.

No more recession or QE's in the USA for a while (24 months)

You had better hope that the rates go back up soon, because if we have another market correction with rates this low, the Fed won't have much in the way of fiscal 'life lines' with which to bail us out again.

So what exactly is the point of this thread?

Are people just commenting on market changes in retrospect?

Or are people actually trying to preemptively identify and exploit market inefficiencies?
