A bit of a heat wave -- a couple of days of 90 degrees or so (breaking records for the date) and then forecast to be back to reasonable temps. A rest from the rain, too.

Was in Suburban Atlanta, Wednesday to Friday. They had some fairly severe storms move through those three days. Encountered more storms along the I-20 West corridor from Atlanta to West of Birmingham, AL. Weather wise, wasn't any major difference to what's occurring at home in the Ark-La-Tex region. Did see a lot of downed trees along I-20, keeping Western Alabama and Eastern Mississippi Highway Department Crews busy!

Looking forward to the long weekend (Canadian Victoria Day) this weekend. Supposed to be warm and mostly clear. I've been procrastinating on doing some work on the car so it will be nice enough to finally do it outside on the driveway.

Houstonians, please check in.
That weather was insane in New Orleans last night. 12 hours no power. I don’t know what was scarier the hum of the train or the hum of the transformers blowing at midnight. Thankful for generators. |

Glad to hear you have one; they're practically a requirement in some parts of the country.
We once went 3 days without power in Northern New England. After that, we had a whole-house generator and automatic transfer switch installed and subsequently sailed right through a 12-day outage after an ice storm. Except for this, which took some time to clear before a crew from Central PA could reach us and restore power on Xmas Eve:

Same here. Just shy of 90F today and the same for tomorrow and Tuesday. Then T-storms on Wednesday and a return to low 80s and upper 70s.

Ditto. I'm hoping we get back to a nice stretch of 70s before it heats-up for good.

Still cool and May Gray is in full bloom, but yes, the heat will be here soon enough. Going to enjoy this weather while it's here.

It was downright chilly here all of last week. The building heat at work is off for the summer, and it was 58-60 F in my office the entire time.
Our forecast is for mid-upper 80's F through most of the week. Perfect time to be without AC or heat in my Bavarian Golf Cart...NOT! We dealt with similar temperatures down in SC at our tree farm for a quick trip two weeks ago, only mother nature threw in several rounds of severe thunderstorms that knocked the area's power out for half a day and dropped a limb on the roof of the almost-Mighty Freightliner in the middle of the night.....

After a little light storm blew through Friday night. We had Temps in the low to near mid 90's Saturday and Sunday. Thankfully, the humidity levels were very low, so it wasn't that unbearable sticky heat. I hope the weather forecasted for Wednesday and Thursday won't leave behind higher humidity with the higher forecasted temperatures.

Hoooooooooooot a juuuuuuuciy!!! Ready to GTFO!
It was real nice then one day just walked outside and it was like WTF!!! All of the sudden it just became unbearably hot. We have been in a drought also had not rained for months. Luckily Saturday it was like a tsunami and we got some rain last night also. My freaking water bill has been insane trying to keep the grass alive. I'm a bit jealous. Our highs are in the 60s and it gets down to the upper 30s at night. I'm ready for warmer weather!

Excellent weekend here too.
Finished swapping the shocks and struts on my 2 series with plenty of breaks in between. Then biked to the park and listened to an orchestra play for a bit on Monday afternoon. Capped it off with a thunderstorm at 3am last night and now it's ridiculously humid. Going to be a "feels like" 93F day today. |
