Question: If the upper quote is true what does that imply about EV owners and Porsche EV owners specifically? |

I knew a sh*t ton of power was going to go through my house while charging and did NOT want to screw things up by going cheap on the electrical system. I’m happy for EVs to find their niche and expect much of the government pressure to be dialed back. I’d prefer they find their way in the marketplace on their own merits. I’m just over a year on the S Plaid and I’m still enjoying the hell out of it. |

Just watched this video. Turns out if you by CPO on Teslas website it comes with acceleration boost. You can get pretty good deals on 2021 models with low mileage for $37K, 0-60 in 3.7 seconds. Not sure if it comes with the mobile charger as well versus acceleration boost and the mobile charger being extra cost on new vehicles, though they do give a discount for inventory new vehicles versus custom order as well and $7500 potential tax credit if taking delivery before January 1st so that could be used to pay for acceleration boost on a new vehicle. That being said you can get a tax credit on used ones as well.

Things that should make you go Hmmmmm.
Electric Vehicle Owners Are Not Driving Enough—And That’s Bad December 13, 2023 Studies have consistently found people are driving their EVs less than their gas cars. We found that EVs averaged just 7,165 annual miles driven, compared to 11,642 for gas vehicles. A 2021 study found similar results when it examined the increase in household electricity usage after purchase of an EV to estimate mileage, as did a similar analysis of used vehicle listings by iSeeCars.com this June. But on its latest analysis the Environmental Protection Agency concluded EV owners are driving their cars about the same number of miles as owners of gas vehicles. This could lead to an overestimation of emissions savings from EVs and potentially less-strict emissions regulations for gasoline vehicles. https://www.scientificamerican.com/a...and-thats-bad/ |

First Federally Funded EV Charger Is Now Running
Nearly two years after $7.5 billion in federal funding was authorized for developing EV chargers, the first of many has arrived. In total, Ohio is set to receive 27 chargers from this program, all situated on Interstates 70, 71, 76, 77, and 90, the Ohio Turnpike. https://www.autoweek.com/news/a46099...arger-running/ We have a local convenience store chain that has more that 27 chargers in two locations and they have had them for a couple years. P.S. The government didn't pay for then. It's called the free market, we should try it more often. Last edited by Car-Addicted; 12-28-2023 at 11:29 AM.. Reason: Added PS |

I honestly don't take this debate too seriously.
There's pros and cons for both cars. However, this is the infancy of ev cars and i'd be really hesitant to buy from anyone other than tesla, or a really good manufacturer (comparatively speaking) because of that. All of these videos shows that buying from any old manufacturer that spits out an ev is a bad idea. |

1) Prius drivers who think they are saving the planet by doing jack rabbit starts at every red light. They are mostly students or towns folks. 2) EV drivers, mostly SUV, all high end. These are the early adopters and they wouldn't say a negative thing about EV's if theirs caught fire in the garage and burned their house and family dog down. Generally associated with the university and all ways a second or third car. Drive EV's because it the socially acceptable thing to do and a great talking point at gatherings where they need to appear to be good stewards of the planet whey they plan their next trip to Italy. This group keeps the local Mercedes, Audi and BMW lots full of EV SUV's in Black, Silver and White because they lack imagination and style. 3) EV drivers, Tesla's. Almost all students and ready to show any Prius owner their stop light superiority. The funny part of this group is their charging solutions, from leaving their EV's at a local convenience store overnight to extension cords running out of apartment complexes. 4) Last group is the non existent EV group. They are blue collar working people and they own one or two cars and none of them are EV's and never will be EV's. 5) Gblansten drivers just folks who love fast cars and don't care what they run on.
