SupraMKV's mod attended a meeting with Toyota and this is what he can say.

I can't stop seeing a popover.
Hopefully the Z4 is less bloated and overstyled. |

Fender and quarter panel height on the Z4 looks to be the same. To each their own, personally I like the styling of the Supra prototype. On the other side, there are some that think the Z4 looks bland and boring. Different strokes for different folks.

So I suppose the Supra is right on the five year timeline. Or effectively a whole generation. |

^(From what I understand.) While sharing some styling cues the FT-HS was not the same as the 86 project. That concept was suppose to preview a $40k 400hp hybrid Supra successor, but the project was scrapped after the 2008 recession. Instead Toyota flavored a more affordable sports car that we know as the 86.
Back to the 86, the project started even before the blackout Frankenstein test mule. It began with a Legacy-shelled mule, I'm assuming some time in 2008. It's also worth noting that the project came to a 6 month stop, because of Subaru. Yes, Tada san did say it would take around 5 years to develop the Supra. I don't think this included the two years they spent on just the idea of what kind of car to make with BMW (2012-2014). https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/c...net-sales-more Quote:
