Speaking of headlights, the low this morning here was 49F. Now I'd practically kill for that temperature in the winter, but now that I'm summer-adapted, brrrr!

Looking to be a high of upper 80s today with a slight chance of pop up rain later in the afternoon. Humidity was pretty gross yesterday and I can only imagine it will be worse or equal to today.

Hopefully it won't deter the golf league from playing tonight! Can't wait to get back out there!

High today is 101°F. Down to high 80s on Sunday, then back to the 100s by the following Saturday.

What is this "water falling out of the sky" that you speak of?

We go bone dry for the months of July, August and September, which is the reason that this Willamette Valley area of Oregon produces a large amount of grass seed for all purposes (homeowners, builders, golf courses). The tradeoff is the fire risk, although right now the temperatures are not hot. But introduce hot temperatures and windy conditions into the picture and the anxiety level goes way up.

Speaking of wildfires... Jasper, Alberta got hit quite bad. They're calling for 1/3 to a half of the buildings destroyed. Population of only about 5000, mostly a tourist town. A lot of hotels and resorts are leveled.

Fire smoke season is in full swing but it's keeping north for now.

Ugh. I've been dreading this. A return to typical central IL mugginess.

A gorgeous day. Spent most of it outside weeding and deadheading the flower beds.

Terrible wildfires in Oregon, too, but nowhere close to us. And the smoke is all blowing into Idaho, Montana, etc.

Glad they're not close to you. We had one close to us several years ago and the sky was black with smoke and there was ash everywhere, including on the cars and roads. Now there's a big one in Alberta. It's wildfire season and it's frightening and can be devastating for anybody near them.
