We're past the really nasty heat and just into normal IL temps. Low 80's today and humid, but not rain forest humid like it's been.
Red Sox are playing in Arlington, Tx tonight against the Rangers. Game time temp is expected to be 101F. I hope they have that roof closed and the a/c running.

After spending a steamy day outside on the sun side of the house, it's now pissing down rain.
But we do need some. |

When the dew point is 78F, it doesn't much matter what the temp is. It's just miserable. But for the record, it's 92F and feels like 107F.

Crazy rain here. I got 2 inches at home over night. Some of NYC got close to 5 inches. Cars floating all over the roadways. It's supposed to rain until Saturday. My lawn is happy though.

I wish we had some of your rain. Instead it's just dry and hot. Upper 90s and a few days in the 100s in our future.

It's lunchtime and 65 glorious F-in degrees here right now, with overcast skies. The windows have been open with the AC off for 18 hours now.
We missed out on most of the rain that hit NYC and points south yesterday, only picking up 0.33" in my rain gauge.....

I know many of us are just getting into the meat of summer, but there are indications that excessive heat will eventually end. Having lived in North Dakota as a child, I am not surprised, as that is a region with remarkably variable weather in every month of the year.
It's the only place I've lived that had a range as great as from -40° F in the winter to +92° F in the summer of the same year. I don't doubt there are others, too.

It looks like you're seeing much colder temperatures, with JJ's high being 72 degrees and yours only being 21 degrees.
We're drizzly and under a tornado watch until mid-afternoon here, with highs in the upper 70's. I just had to turn the central AC on for the first time in days, mostly for the humidity. Debby should be past us by early Saturday morning, but there will still be lingering winds. Hopefully they can keep all of the tents staked down at this weekend's air show, and the rain doesn't turn the on-field grass parking into a Woodstock-like mud pit. I didn't hear Frecce Tricolori go in/out for their scheduled NYC flyover yesterday, and haven't heard them or the USAF Thunderbirds practicing all week. I'm thinking that today's practices will be rained out as well.....
