But she got a new group of bees and these are pussycats; she told us the other day that she had collected honey without a suit or anything! And their honey is very good: very floral in taste.

Bees are to me like snakes are to Indiana Jones. I allow clover to grow on our yard because I know how important bees are. As long as they keep their distance.

Always wondered, how do collect the honey? Like, how do you separate the bees from the honeycombs?

We have rented this bee hive, the guy comes every 2 weeks to check it and add another level (super), he said he might take some of the racks next time to start taking the honey. I know Lisa wants to help. We paid $250 for the rental, it's next to our veggie garden and we get 6 litres of honey from the hive. Seems like a good deal and it's good for the planet. Here's a video that shows the harvest.

I'm pretty much clueless on the details. She puts the frame in a contraption that then allows the honey to drain into jars. I think Murf is our expert.

Never go with an expert, because an “ex” is a has been, and a “spurt” is a drip under pressure.
