Curious: how much should a used, excellent condition 116600LV go for? I noticed there's a 16600LV as well. Is one ceramic and the other isn't?

116600LV is ceramic. 16600LV is steel, I believe. Don't quote me on that lol

$8,000 +/- $500

There are other differences than just the ceramic bezel. The 116610LN, etc has larger lugs, maxi dial (larger hour markers and wider minute hand) and the clasp is smooth. Looks a lot better than previous generations, IMHO.

After 5 years, I recently sent in my GMT Master II (stainless) in for servicing.

It cost a pretty penny, but I got the crystal and crown fully replaced and the watch came back looking brand new (I'm not even kidding, I had to check the serial number to double check that they didn't just give me a new watch....)

SUPERB service from Rolex. Very impressed.

I'm currently looking at the new 39mm Oyster Perpetual, with the gray dial to add to my collection. I have a 40mm Stainless Steel Submariner, and a 34 mm Oyster Perpetual DateJust with the white dial. The DateJust I bought in 1998, however, it looks brand new. When I bought the DateJust, it only came in 34mm, and was a wedding gift to myself. I really like the clean, simplicity of the DateJust, however, wish it was around 39mm. I rotate between my Sub, DateJust. and have a Tissot Quicksilver in black for everyday use. I love watches, and might add the new 39mm Oyster Perpetual to my collection. I like very simple watches, and that's why I'm leaning towards the new Oyster Perpetual in gray, with a hint of blue on the second hands. My DateJust is filled with fond memories of my wedding night, so I don't want to let it go. Each timepiece has its own characteristic. Sub is sporty, DateJust is more formal, and my new Oyster Perpetual without the date is a great balance between the two. It comes in four colors, and I'm leaning towards the gray dial. However, the blue is interesting. What color dial would you guys choose, and why? What is it about watches, that makes one want to continue buying them? Thanks...

It depends on the watch I think . I mostly prefer Dark Blue that changes its dial color depending on the angle and light but silver dial for DJ 126333 is my fave color hue . I think if I buy a DJ 126333 ,that color dial is what I would elect
Buying watches is a never ending process for me , I don't buy them for sake of buying .If I like design in overall and movement that brings novelties on the table and budget allows me to do that I buy but sometimes I sell to buy so to speak to make funds and room for the next incoming watches

Rolex makes watches go anywhere wear everyday whereas Patek Philippe mostly is associated with dress watches that offers non surpassed quality . However, in terms of machining and attention to detail ,Rolex is not behind so called Holy Trinity of the Swiss watches . Rolex just don't deal with what might be redundant trifle things as other watch brands offer plenty of such as perlage, anglage, guilloche, tourbillons, fusee and chain and many other things that needs skill ,prowess to do but honestly just unnecessary things ,you wouldn't need these to obtain COSC in wristwatches

Don't get me wrong ,I would love to own a watch with tourbillon but I like things Rolex way . Any Rolex watch can be worn at any event , activity ,destination but you wouldn't wear your Patek while exploring the ocean or in Antarctica or other brands that is a few times as pricey as Rolex .
Patek also offers sporty watches but not a patch on Rolex in terms of value for money

Amy preference in color for the new Oyster Perpetual, 39 MM? I'm leaning towards the gray dial. Thanks.

I just bought the new version in almost perfect condition for just under 7k from DavidSW.

Some people like the old generation SUBs. I wanted a new model with the drivers clamp and the ceramic bezel.

In the end its really what you want. but just do your research and don't over pay. The watch in your link seems reasonably priced for what it is.

EDIT:

One thing i noticed in the pics is the watch is missing a lot of links. Just make sure the watch comes with those so you can adjust accordingly..... Might bring the value down also if they are missing.
