So when the hell is this car coming out? Is this the new Lexus LF-A? wow Subaru will probably release the BRZ STi before the Supra comes out.

We interviewed Tetsuya Tada, the father of the Toyota Supra: "we are going to launch a version in 2019 but it will not be the last"

If they try to sell this thing for $50k+, why would anyone buy this over an M2 Competition now that it has the S55 in it?
Depending on how it all works out I might move from my M4 to an M2 with the S55, I wouldn't even look twice at this Supra. |

When M killed off the bespoke motors with individual throttle bodies and awesome redlines, the S motors lost a lot of appeal to me. They're really just about more power now. I'd take a lighter, more agile car over a heavier more powerful one. |

Toyota on the other hand has nothing to show for anything except the LFA and some boring ass mass consumer vehicles for the past 20 years. There's a reason I switched from the MR2 Turbos and MKIV Supras I drove way back when. |

I will argue that the character of an M Car has changed from the high strung, low torque era to the current M Cars, but they are easier to drive quickly in normal situations. But they also feel closer to their non M brethren than before. Not really pertinent to this convo about the Supra or much of anything else, just needed to say 'get off my lawn!' one more time today. |

Interesting about the quoted HP as motortrend had the Z4 M40i at 382hp/369. Similar price at ~65k and 3,400lb weight.
