Flip down sights are back ups in case of a malfunction of optics, these have to be "co witnessed" with optics for accuracy. Respect to those who use keyboards, I do also but mine is basic black with no carbon fiber trim...

co witnesss isnt really related to accuracy per se....
If an optic really breaks and cannot be seen through properly then its going to be removed from the gun which is the entire point of BUIS and the quick release/knobs on the Optic/Red Dot BUIS need to be sighted in.....regardless of whether or not the optic is mounted OR NOT When the optic is mounted AND the BUIS up you will have SOME sort of co witness assuming things are not mounted in a totally retarded manner.... Whether you have an absolute co witness of the sight or a 1/3rd co witness is another subject altogether |

Always zero optic and BUIS independently of each other.

I would suggest that you get good with your irons before you put an optic on. That way if you ever need to remove the optic you'll still be a decent shot.

Normally I prefer red dots for better and quicker aiming but if you're on a challenge with vary ranges the advantage drops.
Iron sights are almost the best, I shot a German G36 once wheres kinda dot optic is stock mounted and at ranges above of 150m the red dot makes it difficult to judge the hits into the target because my aiming eye was slightly overstrained between the close dominance of the dot and the bulletholes onto target farer behind.

You have to pay for the first two and the third is free. Like one of those coupon punch cards with the little stars on em.
Side note, kind of bummed first kill with 30-06 was a small buck but got a decent amount of meat from it. Probably wont get it back from processing until Friday or Monday. |

I didn't vote for Trump (or Hillary for that matter)... But I'm glad The Donald seems to want to restore 2nd amendment rights, especially here in Commie-Fornia with the most strict gun laws in the nation... Everybody is putting gun bans front and center, even the requirement of a background check to buy bullets just passed, but see the pic below for what I have to say about that.
But all things considered: I used to have an HK USP .45 with laser (this was for defense since Arcadia has a lot of break-ins), but had to sell it due to a rough moment with my dad's mental health negatively affecting me... But dammit do I miss that gun; I will buy one again and stockpile on bullets before that stupid law goes into effect, just in case The Donald can't deliver on his promise.
