Man if Aston Martin didn't have a bad enough weekend, now the drivers are joking about how slow their pace car is.

Lol I saw that too, buts it's because the Mercedes safety car is 700 HP and the Aston is only 500. Maybe they should make the safety car the valkyrie pro, makes 2000kg of down force for a 1000 kg car. That's literally F1 levels of performance. Maybe that'll be enough.

I wonder if the am valkyrie pro has issues with porpoising. I doubt it runs low enough though.

I don't know why they just don't use GT3 spec cars. They are faster and don't need to be driven at 9/10ths. Besides that they are safer. Both Aston and Merc have GT3 cars available, and new they cost in the 500k range retail which isn't far off the Black Series.

I guess it more about advertising and selling cars so they will probably stick to what they have.

Now here comes the FIA mandate that drivers can't complain about the safety car. I'm sure it will be in place before Imola.

That would be awesome and what I suggested too! But there's a few problems:

1) there's probably no trunk space for the equipment needed

2) it's way too expensive

3) if it can create F1 levels of performance then it might be too fast for safety car pace.

Maybe the pace will be too fast for Marshall's to safely clear the track.

But man these FIA regulations are getting ridiculous, and they'd probably put in a regulation that stops safety car complaints. I mean it can't go any faster so it is what it is.

1) No trunk , It's completely filled by a monster power beast (1140 HP)

2) The FIA has enough money (no problem)

3) Depends of the right foot (and the left)

Yeah that's the biggest problem then, there won't be room for all the radio equipment, camera equipment, sensors etc.

It's a street car so the brake pedal will be a bit too far over for left foot braking to be comfortable.

Imagine the AMG project one engine in the valkyrie, that will literally be a street legal F1 car.

The Aston Martin F1 Safety Car sounds terrible to me, both from inside and outside the car.

The first thing I think of when I see his name, is when Jos drove over the back of Montoya while being lapped in Brazil.

Montoya had dispatched Schumi for the lead of the race. Dumba$$ Jos was putting around the backfield in his Arrows.

Leclerc on porpoising...
“I don’t know why, but I’m not very sensitive to porpoising,” Charles Leclerc said after his win in Australia – “If you look at it from the outside, it looks bad. However, in the car it doesn’t bother me too much, in terms of performance. Only at the entrance to turn 9” – he continued, also stating that he could not have gone faster without the bouncing – “Of course, it’s definitely something we want to eliminate, to avoid bouncing around corners which can be a problem.” – concluded the Monegasque.

Mine was like that so I got a brake pedal extension to make left foot braking more comfortable.
