The money spent on the green grift could have been spent on saving energy and building safe nuclear power plants. Sadly those options don't allow tax payers to be defrauded enough. |

Okay. In order to save the planet I will stand here and freeze to death until my eco car is charged. By then, I might remember where I'm going.

I can't vouch for these numbers, but they are thought-provoking.

True environmentalist do understand this, and no reason to response, because public transporation and ride sharing instead of private car ownership leaves a far smaller carbon footprint, whether that's ICE or EV. The goal is to reduce your carbon footprint, buying a new car is massively wasteful to begin with. The 74% or so people that car-addicted posted earlier who brought their EV over environmental concerns are just ill informed (and probably just want to virtue signal). If you want to do something over climate change, buying a new car, ICE or EV, isn't going to do that, you do so by reducing your impact (as in less buying), it requires a pretty fundamental change to the existing lifestyle. It is not as simple as buying an EV. I bet these 74% of people don't even see the beginning of reducing their own carbon footprint beyond the visible EV's 'benefits' of no tailpipe emission or no dirty gas stations, when they don't see how the electricity going into their EV, or how the car is made.

I think that is the right way to look at this. Conservation of natural resources is no different than conservation of capital / money. There are things we want to buy and can afford, so we buy them, we don't waste money on a bad deal. When we buy energy we buy the best value available. When we buy cars or technology we don't shop for the one that uses the most resources, uses the most energy and has the shortest life. If you consider your day to day purchases with a mind to the environment you will likely find you are way ahead of any EV, but if you want to buy a EV then by all means do it but don't play the "we are saving the environment" card because that is a lie.

An EV conspiracy theory: The US is tricking china into adopting evs as their main form of transportation. The US understands the high cost and material scarcity of a transport infrastructure based on evs, the ease with which they are disrupted, and the limitations on expansion and travel that comes with it; making a society based on such tech easily exploited and contained. Would it not be worth a few $billion over 10 years (and some much-needed updates to your own infrastructure) to ensure your largest competitor adopts an inferior infrastructure that limits their growth?

CCP-Tied Group Quietly Spending Millions of Dollars On US-Based Climate Initiatives The Energy Foundation, a climate-focused nonprofit with operations in Beijing, has wired millions of dollars to fund climate initiatives and environmental groups in the U.S. Despite being technically headquartered in San Francisco, it operates mostly in China with strong ties to the Chinese Communist Party. The group’s financial filings show contributions to U.S. initiatives, prompting concerns about national security and China’s influence. It funded various U.S. organizations advocating for climate policies, drawing criticism for allegedly hindering domestic energy production. The foundation’s ties to the CCP, including key staff members’ previous roles in Chinese government agencies, have raised concerns. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world...es/ar-AA1lHCJT |

I have installed a propane residential generator in my house. When there is an outage cause by winter/wind storm, it will kick in in least than 1 minute. No need to have shit like solar panels... I just want a good sleep at night.
