These were also the much older prototypes. We can see it much better on the ones without body cladding.

The prototype in Japan drops body cladding and gets new camo wrap.

A legend at Le Mans Toyota GR Supra Racing Concept

https://www.toyota-europe.com/world-...praconceptcar#

Quote:
Bringing back our most iconic sports car

Toyota’s historic win at Le Mans 2018 presented the perfect moment for Tetsuya Tada, Chief Engineer of the Supra, to confirm that our most iconic sports car is returning. The GR Supra Racing Concept exhibited at Le Mans Toyota fan zone, is reviving the famous Supra name, recalling the spirit of the most celebrated sports model in Toyota’s story. Compact and dramatic, the racing concept promises a car that can deliver high performance on both track and road.

“The new Supra should be the flagship sports car of the Toyota brand and a front-runner of an era.”
Tetsuya Tada – Chief Engineer

Born to perform

As a joint development between Toyota and BMW, the new Supra was seen from the start as a top-tier racing car in line with Supra’s motorsport-inspired pedigree. Tada-san said that the new Supra, to be launched early 2019, will inherit the tradition built by the previous Supra and incorporate modern-day, state-of-the-art technology without compromise.

Featuring a characterful in-line 6-cylinder front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout, the next Supra not only revives the legacy of its past but promises to give drivers a truly thrilling sensation.

Doesn't look much like an inline 6 from those photos, maybe a hybrid 4. Also would have been nice if they had shifted the whole power train back in that tunnel. All that room, they could have made it more mid engined.

I believe most modern day concept cars are powered by an electric motor to move short distance with.

Spotted parked next to a M2. Seems to be more or less about the same size.

It'll look nice but it doesn't look at all like a modern interpretation of the original.

Much like Acura with the NSX or BMW with the new 8-series, a lot of potential wasted.

All of these camo shots hit me the same way: "does this outfit make me look fat?"

Based on all these photos as well as the one next to the M2 in which the Supra is clearly smaller; this is in effect and in reality a 'modern' Z4 M coupe literally since it is a coupe version of the new Z4. If it maintains the wild nature hat the original Z4 Coupe has it will be great. It's certainly not like the last gen Supra

Isn't BMWs new "35i" B48 cranking out 300hp now? That with an electric drive train could give in the 415hp range.

It looks fine too me. All I can say is the specs between the A90 and J29 are more or less the same.

Z4
Wheelbase: 2,470 mm (97.2 in)
Length: 4,320 mm (170.1 in)
Width: 1,861 mm (73.3 in)
Height: 1,303 mm (51.3 in)

Supra
Wheelbase: 2,470 mm (97.2 in)
Length: 4,380 mm (172.4 in)
Width: 1,855 mm (73 in)
Height: 1,290 mm (50.8 in)

Differences
Wheelbase: None Supra = Z4
Length: 60 mm (2.3 in) Supra+
Width: 6 mm (.3 in) Z4+
Height: 13 mm (.5 in) Z4+
