Please notice, this is NOT an eagle:
Gliding American White Pelican by dcstep, on Flickr The eagles will be gone in a week or so and I'll get back to other subjects... I promise.

I picked up a used 55-200 for my new XT-1. Here Carl poses admiring my other work while I test it out. ISO 3200 at night in my living room.

Nice shot, David. Very moody and foreboding.
Ed, you're peaking my interest in the XT-1 again. Have you tried manual focus with focus peaking or the zoom inset in the EVF?

Been a while since I've been able to get out and shoot new stuff... thanks Mark - I liked the one you commented on.
Got one more as I kept both but the one I posted above is my favorite of the two (same location, different sky). Here's the other one (below, my lesser favorite of the two)... Dark Skies 2 by ddk632, on Flickr I have a shoot planned out at Deering Estate for sunrise in a couple of weeks and hopefully will get up to a few other spots I've found recently for some nice landscape/sunset shots. Been wanting to shoot more landscapes and, well, much of Florida just freaking looks the same! |

Agree with Mark David, very cool moody landscapes.
Mark, I haven't dove into any of the MF features yet, but I hope to soon. I'm working 9 and 10 hour days right now, so not much time after work to experiment, hence the kitty in the living room shots. Hopefully this weekend. |

FL can be really tough, unless something big is happening in the sky. Even the water action can be boring once the sun gets up a few degrees. Move in close to the bikinis.

Nice night shot of the Bay Bridge.
Best viewed full-screen, over at Flickr.

I know this isn't a cat forum But dang, I continue to be impressed with the XT1. This is a B&W rendering straight out of the camera using a Fuji preset, no silver efex pro or anything like that. One tiny levels tweak is all I did. ISO 1600 1/20 at f 4.8 handheld @ 200mm and no noise reduction or sharpening.
