Loved this car until I watched, I now see something I can’t unsee.
M performance…
Mmmm, M performance loss might be better suited.
This car does not need more wings than red bull , 100% hard pass on this kit.

This car was obviously designed to appeal to the Asian world. The tacky M "performance" parts on all their cars appeal to california buyers. At least the color is nice, just on the wrong car.

“Real” performance cars as you refer to only apply to old or semi-old farts who grew up rowing gears and tuning their turbo or naturally aspirated cars to the max. “Real” performance cars to the younger gen will be like this - pure EV or PHEV or hybrid. Holding on to pure ICE as the only ‘real’ performance option isn’t a modern way of thinking anymore. Time to move on for the modern cars and enjoy that you can still get some pretty special older gen ///Mx’s or P-cars to bring back those nostalgic feels.

Why couldn’t they have found a better way to do the CF side skirts? Looks so weird how they just end before the welcome lights. 🤷🏻‍♂️

No if you want a new ‘real’ performance car you just buy a different model or brand. If you want a new BMW you buy a G87 or if you need a 4 door buy a G80, yes they are relative pigs but not near as much a pig as this tank.
Anyone who knows anything about performance cars is buying & holding on to ICE cars, despite the crap being regurgitated by brainwashed EV lovers you will be able to run ICE cars on synthetic fuels & the like, whilst EV’s will go by the wayside to make way for Hydrogen or whatever next trend the tree huggers decide is best.
I personally will buy an EV for my wife to go shopping in when they are comparable to the current ICE shopping trolleys (not even close currently) but as for a performance car… 🤣😂🤣forget it. An EV performance car is a contradiction in terms.

Not sure we’re talking about the same thing, but I don’t disagree with what you wrote.

In 10 years, ICE won’t even be a thing other than for us diehards holding onto our relics. The G87 as one of the (maybe the?) last RWD 6MT pure ICE ///M cars makes it special. But in 10 years, a discussion of “real” performance cars won’t include the ancient G87 and the likes at that point.

In every tangible way my G87 is lightyears better than my E46. But driving that old thing is unreal, and why it’s still in the garage. The early 20-somethings 10 years from now won’t even know what a RWD manual pure ICE engine car with hydraulic steering and brakes even feels like. Hence my point, what a “real” performance car is is opinion- and era-based.

Initial thoughts based on the M performance parts

*ONLY commenting because I have loaded my car with only M performance parts

Im impressed. They actually fit the front facia beautifully

Side skirts look great as well - NOT a fan of that "shark fin" towards the rear door piece - althought it is in line with the rear bumper super large diffuser

Still not a fan of the "thong" type rear diffuser with that gap in the middle

NOT to mention the need for HUGE exhaust tips

M Performance exhaust tips looks underwhelming for the space they have allotted in that area. Almost seems like it should be a 110MM tip


Overall - I am actually pretty happy with what has been released for the G90 M5


Just me .02

1000% would demand that "M-PERFORMANCE" not be on the rear doors
