I dont understand your comment about the E92 having an SUV seating position... Compared to what E92 is high?

I think the look of the new M5 is the most daring and unique one yet. I’m into it

Hello everyone, and thank you for everything!

I didn’t expect such a response from the community. I’ve received a lot of questions and comments about my new purchase, and I plan to continue sharing my impressions with fellow Bimmerposters.

First of all, to answer your questions: no, the M5 CS is still in my possession and hasn’t been sold—it’s just in hibernation.

After three days of owning the G90, I can confidently say it perfectly meets my expectations, and here’s why:

First, you need to understand one thing: car manufacturers are no longer looking to create raw, “hardcore” driving experiences. They’re focusing more on complying with regulations, which inevitably makes cars feel tamer. Blame it on European regulations (and I have a feeling this will become the most-used excuse every time a car flops).

This weekend, I spent a lot of time driving on the highway and got a much better feel for the car. The M5 has always been a highway queen, and it still is! Despite its weight, it manages to deliver that raw, intense feeling at both high and low speeds.

I tried a few pulls, and I was impressed by how responsive the turbos are. They feel much less laggy and respond instantly as soon as you hit the accelerator. Whether in Comfort or Sport mode, the car reacts very quickly.

The ride comfort is unreal. I’ve owned several M models, and the G90 is by far the most comfortable car I’ve ever driven. It’s as comfortable as the RS6 but with a MUCH more responsive steering wheel. The steering is sharper than its competitors but slightly less precise than the previous M5. I haven’t tested it on twisty roads yet, but that’s my take for now.

If I had to make a clear comparison, I’d say the steering is more responsive than the X5M F95 but less so than the M5 F90. The car’s weight only becomes noticeable during hard braking. During acceleration or cruising, you won’t feel it at all.

The interior is less luxurious than the previous M5, but it doesn’t sacrifice quality. Everything feels well-assembled with no squeaks or build issues—it’s solid. There are fewer physical buttons and a lot more tech. You can do almost everything via the touchscreen. I’ve never been much of a tech guy, but with the G90 and how well it’s designed, it makes you want to dive into it.

After trying out the new IDrive system, I can’t help but praise it. The infotainment is very intuitive, like a full-sized iPad.

To be completely honest, I think the comparison should be between the M5 G90 and the M3 G80. These two cars have more in common than the G90 does with the previous M5. The interior shares almost the same quality and IDrive system as the G80. Both have synthetic leather, similar screens, and artificial exhaust sounds that make the car burble with every gear shift.

In summary, this car meets exactly what I was looking for. It perfectly fits daily needs, making it an ideal daily driver. If you’re looking for a car that will give you new sensations, I’d recommend looking elsewhere. But if, like me, you’re after the perfect 4-door sedan, she’s the one.

Thanks for the detials. Really is exactly as one would expect really. I would consider the Touring if it wasn't for the piss poor residuals and luxury tax, it really pushes the car into crazy money territory. But more power to you!

I don't know why people are hating on the new M5. I think it's a good looking car. And the weight of the car is only a factor if you're tracking the car every day. Which 99.9999999999999% of people won't be doing. Most people will be gunning it down the highway, showing it off on a boulevard or will be stuck in a traffic jam for most of the time. So stop whining about the weight.

To be honest, I believe the target audience doesn't care about weight. In three years of racing, I've seen one F90 M5; besides that, the M5 has never been a track weapon.

The car is growing on me, I wish it had side vents. But I have a base 2018 M5, so assume this one will be quite an upgrade for me. I may wait a year or two before switching, as I just want to see how reliable the hybrid system is.

Is this typo? You mean “car feels faster than F90 while being slower on paper…”

Clarify if I’m incorrect.

Congrats so stoked for you. Knew it might be the perfect daily.

My dealer’s HEA M5 Sedan is on the truck, I can’t wait to give it a try.

I have a Touring on order so it might be a while before my actual car gets here!

I know I’m on the G90 post, but oh my, the G30 looks SO good in comparison to really anything since the E39 and *maybe* E90 era

Per several videos I've seen, BMW doesn't actually lock anything out pending break-in period... LC, horsepower, torque, what-have-you.

I expect the width will do that, lots of people say photos don’t donit justice.

I think the front looks very menacing. Has an American muscle car vibe. Nice.

However, I really dislike the seating position. It reminds me a lot of the E9X M3. You feel like you’re sitting too high, almost like you’re driving an SUV, and you can’t lower the seat to be closer to the ground.

Transmission:It feels like the F90 with the XHP Tune. Whether in Comfort mode or Sport Plus, the transmission is super responsive.

Power:The power delivery is very linear, and the car feels fast. I did two launch controls, and each time I had all four wheels spinning. Brakes:Thanks God that I chose the ceramic brakes. You definitely need good brakes for this car, and in my opinion, no one should buy the new M5 without ceramics. For those who have had ceramic brakes on their F90, you’ll be surprised because the G90 with ceramics feels less firm, even in sport mode.

Overall, the fact that the car is hybrid and aesthetically pleasing makes it a great daily driver. I feel like this is a car that will prove itself over time. I don’t know it well enough yet, and there are too many driving options to give a final summary.

What I understood is, G90 nothing like what M5’s used to be, it’s more of highway cruser car like 760i or S63 amg just with better handling but it’s lost M5 dna…. It’s an Mutant!

Your statement is correct. It is meant for highway cruising in a sport/comfortable way. This is not a track car or intended for that audience. Why are we pitting it as one? I'm not taking my kids for what the spacious back seats are intended for in hair pin turns going at breakneck speeds. I want an aggressive looking car which can get up if I want it to. I'm certain this car will perform plenty well for 99% of it's target market. Can we stop pretending the M5 is a track car?
