I think you may be being uncharitable.
The 2024 USA i5 M60 didn’t have the options of adaptive M suspension pro, or the active roll stabilization. These can only be optioned (finally) on the 2025. Although many YouTube video reviews mention these features (driven in Europe), you couldn’t possible have driven a car so equipped in the States, which probably explains the body roll comments. As to handling, well, the i5 M60’s or at the BMW events can have various suspensions, plus various wheels and tires, ranging from 19” to 21”, summer or all season. So when people say the handling was poor, or there was a lot of road noise, which suspension, wheels and tires were equipped? 19” on all season (are those run-flats in that case)? It makes a difference so I can easily see how a lot of cars sitting on dealer lots aren’t equipped right for any kind of sporty driving. |

I live in Europe. We have cruel taxes on high-CO2 cars. G90 makes the M5 ‘affordable’ here. I accept there a weight compromise but it’s that or the car is equivalent of about US$220,000 if ICE only.

The social media beat downs on the car have been a bit depressing. But that seems par for the course these days. On the upside, I’m currently driving the 55e PHEV. B58 engine + EV. And it’s very capabale. Augers well for the G90. Here’s hoping!

FMP… I’ve a G90 on order and your comment only made me notice that lack of centre-console shifter! ROFL. FML. It’ll be epic. Very confident. I never use the centre console gearshift anyway, TBH. All good. Funny tho.

When do we get to see a street test drive? I want to see some 0-60, 1/4 mile runs and it hustling thru some turns.
We better see a 10.5 @ 130 with this power level... although the whole 5500 lbs may cause trouble lol.

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/bdwTW-V5iAQ From the comments in this video: Timed it exactly by frame: 0-100 km/h - 3.3 seconds (0-60 mph in 3.0) 0-200km/h = 10 seconds Previous version did 0-200 in 10.3 seconds for the comp, whereas the m5 cs did it in 9.6 seconds for reference Although there are comments saying those numbers are not correct... albeit by someone who comes across as kind of a dick What people don't seem to be taking into account (including in the power-to-weight ratio) is that the hybrid setup likely flattens out the power output curve significantly. Not that you ever had to wait long for the ICE to come up to full power/torque, but with the PHEV setup, you get full EV output immediately while the ICE revs up. |

Thanks! I got the info from The Straight Pipes. Maybe it's 11/7 on the Canadian calendar.

The M5's EV will be more than fine for around town. You should test drive a 50e just to see the difference. Huge upgrade from the 45e. 0-30 speed went from 4 seconds down to about 2.5 seconds.

Yeah, well, I mean my friend always says his Nissan Leaf is always one of the fasted cars through the first 20 feet of the intersection.
