Let me argue that it wont. Why? For normal daily driving you will be braking with the EV engine most of the time in the G90/99. Last edited by Hansn; 08-21-2024 at 01:11 PM.. |

Regen braking will keep pads and rotors good for a long time. Unless you are tracking the M5 Touring, ceramics will be a waste of money. Personal anecdotal evidence: 4 years and 36,000 miles on a Cayenne E Hybrid steel brakes, heavier than the Touring and zero issues, no pad or rotor replacments needed through my ownership. Taycan Cross Turismo 4S is similar, 1 1/2 years, almost 10,000 miles and pads have almost zero wear, 5300 lb wagon. The Taycan needed new tires at 7500 miles, so be prepared to eat through tires and budget appropriately. Also had a ‘24 XM for 4 months, no ceramics and the blended regen and friction brakes could stop 6,000lbs pretty dang quickly.

This M5 Wagon is 17 foot long! 4" longer then the RS6 which is already too freaking long and 11" longer then the M3 wagon! Standard garage is 20' long to keep things in prospective.

I’ll just leave this here. Too much car, too complicated, for too much money comes to mind, but then when they sell 3 of them BMW will say Americans don’t like wagons. Bring the M3touring for under $95k and prove me wrong.

If they bring the M3 Touring it will be the next gen, therefore it will be the same bloated version of the 3 as this is to the 5. They are a generation too late with the wagons. This car is a shell of what it could have been, and so will the next gen M3.

Doubt that they'll bring M3 touring to US anytime soon.
Why do they bring only M5 touring (rather than i5 touring, etc.) - after research, decided to bring top-tier touring to the market, which is M5. Well if this M5 G99 sells like cupcakes, then we never know. QA at the end of the video |

You missed my point. My prediction is that Americans would buy wagons in sufficient quantity to make it worthwhile for them if it were the M3 wagon for under 6figures. Always the excuse that Americans prefer SUV’s. I don’t expect to convince you, because you actually bought another car(XM) that BMW thinks people want but they can’t sell them. Dealerships/SA’s hate them. They won’t sell many M5 wagons at $140k+, that’s also my prediction. Maybe, just maybe more than 3.

The F90 did not have a sunroof. Slick top in body color or CF only.

Those plastic inserts are meh. I may be weird, but starting to like those classic-look M5 wheels. Looks interesting to me, unusual. When the whole car design is minimal, flat-surfaced mostly, more heavy look rims kind of suit it. As I recall, you said you hate it
Just don't get one thing, what's the point of using smaller rims at the front? Ruins the look for me. I would order 21 inch for the front also. Does it do something to performance, and handling? Or just BS |
