Thanks.

Interesting time of year to travel. How did you find snow tires in Florida?

I had a brand new M5 at Monument Valley back in 2019 - I couldn't bring myself to take the unpaved Wildcat trail.

I hope you didn't buy gas from Jackass Joe's. Complete ripoff.

Appreciate it. We've done 9 trips in the last 5 years. Our average distance is 290 miles/day over 109 days. We rarely stay anywhere 2 nights in a row - I get antsy. The days are long - usually 10 hours - but it's half driving and half looking at stuff (Scenery, historic stuff, museums). We're never bored. And I'm always getting out of the car to stretch my legs because I take so many pictures.

Yeah, i'm a leave the hotel at 8am, get to next hotel at 6-7pm kinda guy. With anything up to 6-7 hours of driving, but not everyone is that committed. However, for next year, each day will have two options, one shorter and one longer, then people can choose

Yup. And it never seems to matter how many miles there are: 200 or 450 - it always takes 10 hours. (With the occasional 13 hour day thrown in there.)

Glad to do it.

Sounds like a great trip. If you're going to Colorado and haven't been to those places, check this out: Telluride, Ourey, Million Dollar Highway and more. My favorite area of Colorado.

Well, thanks. Someone said something about Bob Ross a few posts back..........
That might have been the dirtiest its ever been. Had to snap for posterity.

Appreciate the nice words. I really wish I would have had my act together back when European delivery was available - alas, not to be.

Your posts are making me sure again and again that there's nothing more beautiful in this world than mountains and mountain rivers. And you multiply this beauty by having it as the background for such stunning BMW.
Please, keep going! You're blessed, talented photographer!

snowbimmer I’m only commenting on this now because it took me a week and then some to go through all of your extremely detailed trip notes and through all of your stunning photography. I truly thoroughly enjoy them and never rush through. As I’ve told you before, there is some media in here that would make for absolutely wonderful BMW marketing materials. Glad to see once again that the change to the 8er hasn’t tamped down these epic road trips (dare I say that we’re actually seeing more after you left the F90 side of the house)?!

Regardless, thank you as always for the tireless efforts you expend to make us feel like we were side by side with you, mile after mile. Miss seeing you on our side of the house, but ecsatic that you’re still here enjoying these machines as they’re meant to be enjoyed!

Thank you once again, and continued safe travels to you and your family. Can’t wait to see what’s on the map next!

Wow, Appreciate the sentiments. I've always loved the mountains. Always loved cars. I guess it's even better if you can put them together.

Jeez, man - thanks for the nice words. It's weird, but I bought my first M5 to take on these epic road trips - then I got only one with my Donington before covid hit. I soon swapped it out for the Brands Hatch M5C and did two more. Total M5 miles: 44,645 in just under three years.

The M850 has been on six major trips and I'm at 44,380 miles in just under 2.5 years - so, yeah, you're seeing more from the 8er side. Trip seven starts in a week and a half.

I'm glad you feel like your side by side with us - I'd take even more pictures if the wife would let me stop at every place I wanted to

Changing to the M850 didn't have any effect on tamping ANYTHING down. Nothing beats the ferociousness of the F90, but the M850 cruises along pretty nicely.

Stay tuned.

Only speaking the truth!

These are all truly wonderful machines for trips as amazing as these.

That’s incredibly impressive road trip mileage. Nothing makes me happier than a fellow enthusiast enjoying the hell out of these cars. Plus, I get to live vicariously through you!

Can’t wait to see what (where?!) is next!
