The price is very surprising. Do you have any idea when the wagon will be released?

Guess I just don’t see the fascination with the soft close doors that others do and have zero concerns if my next vehicle were to have them or not. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I see 5AP "decoding for anti-dazzle high beam" is still included in US spec cars. Bummer, I thought the NHTSA amendment of 2022(?) finally allowed adaptive driving beams. The feature looks so useful but unfortunately because of the archaic US laws, even us Canadian owners get shafted out of these features. What with BMW no longer allowing people to code their cars, it's not even something we can enable ourselves.

It gives premium feel, just closing with little amount of effort. And knowing that generations before had this and now removed, people complain automatically. At least 7 series still has it

It also adds more weight to an already very heavy car. Removed from the M5 CS for 3kg of obvious reasons.

The possibility of European Delivery returning is easily the most exciting part of this. How do we clarify if it’s actually back or not? I haven’t seen/heard this anywhere else but this order guide.

There might have been other reasons for the change. Perhaps they aimed to create a clearer distinction between the 7 and 5 series. Of course, cost-saving measures could also be involved like limiting comfort access to the front door only.

Its NOT coming back anymore, due to lack of demand.

No Brown or Cognac interior options seems like a dealbreaker for many.

Of course. The soft touch doors on my 18 M5 were honestly, an annoyance unless you didn't slam it hard enough the first time. Then, okay sure.

And the 7's auto open door automatic feature is not something I would want in any way. Too many problems I've seen so far.

Shawn

PS.

WHY is the UK "Ultimate Pack" option mission from the US selections? That would have been a very good thing to add.

Here’s a guess: a lot of M5 owners have gotten used to them based on the fact that BMW included them for 15 years or so. Now they’re gone as part of cost cutting.

Not wrong about this. We use them all the time and a couple of years back when testing an X5 M60 that didn’t have them during COVID both my partner and I had to close the doors twice to actually close them. The salesman laughed and said he can always tell when someone has soft close doors in their car. It certainly isn’t a dealbreaker but losing this, comfort access all around, Alcantara headlining (I think this isn’t standard?), an opening moonroof, the colors we like (current X5M is Donnington with Taruma interior), plus potentially generally less premium interior, will have me holding my breath when I finally get to check it out in person. Still on the list for a wagon and still hoping it happens and that thing ends up in our garage! Like others, pleasantly surprised with sedan price.

That’s why Vossen, Hamaan etc exist. I don’t think BMW has been particularly good in this department for many years.

I’ll probably buy a wagon with Euro delivery if it’s available.

Do you have insider info or how did you come to this conclusion?

“Base Price Euro Deliver Munich Pick Up $113,525” Seems like a strange thing to add to the US ordering guide without any explanation. Especially since other recent ordering guides state NA in this section.

For reference European Delivery used to be a 5% discount on MSRP on most models, so whether its real or not from a service perspective its quite possible that the actual price could be ~~$6,000 USD higher as a base in the future. I don't know anything you guys don't - just stating the facts from my prior ED experience.

That said - I will do a third European Delivery if they offer it on this car, and an m5 wagon (I think!) will have one hell of a road trip.

I'm interested in the two listed "semi-individual" interiors. . . Deep Lagoon and Violet secondary leather options? Color me intrigued!

To the poster above noting dual citizenship as a possible "allowance" for ED - do you have any more information about that? I'm one of the lucky ones that has European and US Citizenship, and I'd be all over it like white on rice.

Let say I do have info.
Besides if you look deep into it, BMW states it wont bring it back.
