Of course. Leasing has lots of upside.

Wait 2 or 3 years, then buy a CPO one for the 2/3 of the price and hold it until the end of the warranty. I always get my M cars like this (except my current M2 which has a very reasonable price)

That’s the best way to enjoy a “new” M car without paying over 100k.

It would be wise to wait 1-2 years before jumping on this. I am always skeptical on hybrid powertrains…unless you lease then you are fine.
Generally I lease but in 2022 the lease numbers sucked too much and rates were very low so I decided to just finance the x3m.

Looking back at it now it was the smart choice especially since bmw discontinued the x3m with the X3M50i…which imo feels like a huge let down.

The M5 touring is out of my price range if buying new.

I wanted the M3 touring with the S58 engine without any bs hybrid stuff.

To the people here that are surprised about the gaz guzzler tax: the M5 has been tuned and advertised as a performance car using hybridation mostly for the added punch.

The battery is small for a car of this size and weight and the electric motor is (relatively) powerful for a PHEV.

There isn’t a gas guzzler tax showing on the sedan. The sedan and wagon will not differ greatly on their EPA mpg, odd they are flagging the wagon for the tax and not the sedan.

Both pricing guides (G90/G99) show an estimated gas guzzler tax. Ordering the M5 Sedan does not show the gas guzzler tax. Remains to be seen for the G99, but we'll know soon.

I have a G99 allocation (from BMW NA) and have my options sorted out. All except one...

I'll be doing the car in Techno Violet Metallic (299) and I'm stuck on the leather. The ordering guides list a couple of individual leather options (Dark Violet/Black and Taupe Grey/Lagoon Blue). Silverstone is too light for me and my wife thinks Kaylami looks like a basketball. So its either Black or the "Dark Violet/Black" (... or maybe even the "Taupe Grey/Lagoon Blue"). But matching the Violets (or the Lagoon Blue) could be problematic.

I can't find anything online except a pretty crappy photo of some old "Dark Violet" seats. It looks like a pretty muddy color so not particularly impressed from that single source.

BMW NA is looking for some representative presentation for me. However, the G90 lists the same ind leather options so something might already be floating around. (The SOP is 3/25 so I'm not expecting any real-world photos)

Anyone here have anything that might show the "dark Violet" leather in a better light? ;-)

I double checked the G90 pricing guides before posting. It shows dashes after the gas guzzler tax, no dollar amount. Generally PHEVs have good enough mpge to avoid it, was surprised to see people talking about it as if it was expected. Not that I care either way, not sure how far back I am on waiting lists for the G99, so it will be sorted by then.

I’m actually surprised this would have ADM considering how much depreciation will take hold given it’s a bit of a throwaway model stuck between gas and whatever comes after.

I’m guessing F90 LCIs will hold their balue better than M5s of past. They are already drying up in the used market since a lot of owners are buying out their leases or holding them longer.

Let me know If you find anything about this or any pics! I’m first in line at my dealer but I’m thinking of waiting for 3/25 to get the dark violet interior. I’m going fully loaded- ceramics, exec, driver assist pro, m performance parts all around, individual color undecided either frozen pure gray, frozen deep green (I think that’s the name of the f90 M5CS color) or a purple color maybe techno as well. Not sure but I have always wanted a frozen color just think the deep gray is too dark. I like the pure gray and how it has a touch of blue in it. Then the interior violet would kind of match even though I think the dark violet interior would match the deep gray better. Hard choice but lmk if you find anything it’s the one option that may make me wait a little while.

Touring or Sedan? I didn’t see a carbon pack on the US order guide for the touring.

It probably is but they are not rare. The M5 Touring will not be a car you see very often on the roads especially in North America since it will be the only new BMW touring on the road.

Just got this from BMW NA regarding the Individual "Dark Violet/Black Extended Marino" interior. Not really a "publicity worthy" photo but it does show the seat layout and colors. I think this will go nicely with Individual Techoviolet Metallic!

BMW's still looking for better photos. Will post any more as I get them...
