I just want an i5 touring. Maybe this is the first step. That would be a great replacement for my iX when the lease is up in 3 years.

I can hope.

It’s highly problematic. The 48v generator will fail at some point. Audi refuses to make it a service bulletin. When it goes you’ll receive a Christmas tree of faults and the car will just shut down. I have 11K on it. Will likely happen between now and 25K miles. Due to this I can’t take the car on long distance trips. Also, it usually takes weeks to fix. Google it if you’re bored.

Other than that it’s probably the most favorite car of mine I’ve ever owned. Truly unique. 👍🏾

Ive been buying cars through him for the last 20+ years. He got the joke. There just isn’t a sarcasm font for the internet.

I had this realization years ago...BMW salespeople don't care for the opinions of enthusiasts. Most haven't even worked at the company more than a handful of years. Their objective is to sell you a car here and now.

They are not enthusiasts. Occasionally you run into the old timer who's been there 30 years and is, but generally no.

You put the same brakes and tires on a lighter car it’ll stop in a shorter distance than the heavier car. What are you talking about?

I’m talking about physics and about 35 years lapping cars.

Last post from me on this…

Take your M2, mark a point on the road, hit the brakes exactly at that point and stop from 60mph. Mark where the car stopped.

Throw in three of your 200pd buddies (and toss one in the trunk if you like) and repeat the test.

You will take longer to stop.

Hopefully this is in terms you can understand.

This thing quite possible could weigh as much as an Escalade(5,635lbs).

G90 weighs 2435 or 5,357lbs. The G81 Touring added 85kg over the G80.

Using a conservtive 100kg added to M5, could be looking at 5,577lbs for M5 Touring. 58lbs from being an Escalade 6.2L.

Should be able to get a great deal on a low mileage one that's about 2 years old though.
If the prices track what the RS6 has done, I would be surprised if it’s not heavily marked up for a while.

Glad i put my name down with BMW for this when the rumor mill started a year ago.

The AWD M5 Touring will be a perfect stablemate for my F81!
