Holy hell this is awesome! I'm planning a full M school class next year, this little treat will be a nice primer!

The thing is when you call, the people behind the phones know absolutely nothing. Me and my cousin were schedule to go together on 7/24, we were told there will not be any M cars whatsoever. I backed out because of that (I live in NJ, and this was in SC). He went there and he got to drive Z4M40, M2C, M4C, X5MC).

When I heard about that, I signed up again to go, and I got to drive Z4M40, M2C, M4C, and M8C.

I got an insane amount of track time for a free event. I want to say roughly 45 minutes. There were a total of four people in my event, and the instructor did say that because there's only 4 people here, we are getting extra drive time since we don't have to switch as often.

I enjoyed track driving a lot, and I would've gone even if I was based in TX since there isn't much to travel for these days anyways. However, it's probably best to book a one day M-school, and do New Owner's Track Drive the day before the M school.

I had never been to PDS East before, so it was an experience for me regardless..Plus I have been eyeing an M8C for awhile now, especially since I'm not feeling the G8x grills. For me, I got the opportunity to drive the M8C on the track for several laps. That alone made the whole experience extremely worth it.

I think the cars aren't guaranteed though, so don't bank on driving the M8.
Appreciate the response, very helpful. After talking to the person on the phone, I was a bit discouraged. Good idea to book a 1-day event on the backend. I'll be reconsidering this now.

I talked to someone at BMWNA today and they said yes, but I'd still have to call the PC to be certain.

The program is good for any BMW purchased from I believe June of 2020 until December 31, 2020. You can go to either location, but Thermal is closed for now.

It's good for any new leased or purchased BMW, but not any pre-owned. This is different from vehicle delivery as it does not include hotel or meals, just the class.

If you guys have questions, let me know. It's a blast for sure!
I just purchased an executive demo X7 40i this year for the wife, who is a first time BMW owner. Since the vehicle had never been registered, would it count as "new?"

Was the car sold as "CPO" or new? New to BMW I believe means the car has less than 1,000 miles on it when sold. Best to call but my gut says you should be ok.

I’ve received an invite for every year for the past 5 years — for 3 new cars purchased. Each invite seems to come in a different way. I’ve received a BMW metal model 3 series USB drive, a fancy boxed invitation, an email, a phone call and a letter.
A couple tips...
The free offer must be booked within one year of purchase. It doesn’t have to be redeemed within a year, but does need to be scheduled.
The free offer’s value can be applied to higher level programs, all of which include driving actual M cars.
If you’re a BMWCCA member, upgraded track days, additional participants and gift shop purchases are 15% off. If you bring a friend, it’s worth becoming a member as you’ll save more than the cost of a membership.
The free offer is an absolute blast, but the M courses are life events.

Worth calling and asking them. It does say 2020 model year, not the purchase date?

No, it was clarified in post #19, by the creator of the BMW letter, that only purchase from about June 2020 to Dec 2020 are eligible

The FAQ posted literally says you cannot apply it to any other program.

Not true, I received the offer and purchased my BMW at the end of January. I believe it is purchased any time this year

When I leased my 440i in 2017, I got the full-day "car control school" at the PC in Palm Springs. They threw in two nights of lodging. Transportation wasn't included, so I turned it into a week long road trip.

The program is good for any new BMW purchased in 2020, from January 1 until December 31, 2020. Leases are also included.

The PDC is just now rolling out the program, so they are working to reach customers from earlier in the year first. They will be sending email invitations in batches, and if you purchased between January and March, you should have received the first blast. The next invite will be sent out in a few weeks for those that purchased in April, May, June.

You don't need to wait for your invite though. Once you purchase your car, give it a week or so, then call to book! Make sure you have your VIN and bmw center info handy.

If you guys have questions, let me know. It's a blast for sure!

Thank you for the details, I might have to change the car later this year so this will be a great bonus.

This was sold as "new" as it had never been titled officially.

What if I purchased an M car? (M4 CS)

I recall M cars actually getting you an M-specific Track Day, not just the general driving event???

You might be able to transfer it over as credit towards M School. I transferred one of my free schools that I got for my first M3 to credit towards the 2 Day M School. I believe it was good for $900 credit. IMHO it's worth it. I've attended a similar program they offered and it's nowhere near as much seat time nor provided in depth instruction. It's more like a teaser for M School.

All M3/4 CS cars come with a M Driver Package that removes the electronic speed limiter and comes with a free M Driver Program class. It's 1 day of instruction at a BMW Performance Center. You can, however, exchange it for a 1 Day M School.

This is not to be confused with the M Track Day($500), which is a light version of the M Driver Program($1500), which is a less high performance version of the M Driver School ($1500). Note that in M Driver School, you get your own car. In all other classes, you are sharing, so there is much less seat time.

Thanks for the heads up! That'll be great if they do that. Dodge did that with the SRT drive day, they credited 1000 towards a 3 day high performance driving class.
