Because it’s able to play the game of being two cars in one (the M5), and if that’s the option you want (something I’d love for the sub 40 mile runs I do 90% of the month) then it’s part of it.
It’s not like they’ve put lead weights in it to piss everyone off, it has ‘another feature’ that requires heavy tech.
Also, all this weight on the new Gxx cars probably makes them the car you’ll be glad you were in when the s@@t hits the fan.

It’s heavy yes, but it’s probably built like a lightweight tank.

People just need to accept this is the way things are, buy an earlier gen car for the lightweight weekend/track runs if it’s an issue.
If you can have both, well it’s all good.

All the other German manufacturers offer ‘Russian doll’ model ranges, cars that are not that far removed from the previous gen they replace.
Personally, I want a car that’s moved on in every way from the last model. BMW at least roll the dice and embrace change.
It’s not for everyone, it’s easy to move on.

I genuinely wonder why you still come here if you consider that they haven't produced a single nice model in 6 years.

Vibes like a 7 series, digging the understatedness - not sure about the frozen part though. Blue looks fantastic.

How time flies, Marina Bay a classic M5 color…I guess you are absolutely right. It’s for sure very nice and still available but when I think classic M5 blue, it’s LeMans

Not really. And the future owner won't tear up his undercarriage on roads outside of Germany.

The lack of bump steer will also be nice.

And the XM fathered the new X3, those two are up there on the PT cruiser and Pontiac Aztec level of design disasters, the new M5 is down right purdy in that company.

In that grey color I see it, minus the bikini
Actually I don’t mind much the new M5, especially not the wagon, it’s no beauty but it has some brute charm.

Touchy touchy!

I had a 2025 M5 competition and it was awesome but it looked less aggressive than a Camry--it needed some fender flares and some other Contours.

The new M5 is better in that regard. I just wish it had more like 780hp.

I just took delivery of a 2025 x5m competition and will wait to see what they do with the M5 in terms of a competition or CS, etc

I have no hate for the G8x, I’m still skipping this entire generation as drive wise it’s phenominal, looks are still a no for me. Never liked the F10 M5 yet loved the F90 before even seeing it in the flesh

Looks wise I’m not turned off by the G90, confusing body lines yes but I’m open to giving it a try. For me it will either be a G90 or an F95 LCI as my second car (or first if I decide to not daily my F87).
