Also, as far as brake dust goes- my 2014 3 series and 2017 m550 created a HELLISH amount of brake dust (at least to me, it seemed bad) with just normal commuter driving. Since those two cars, I have had an X5 45e and an iX M60. Having read this threat it caused me to realize that I had completely forgotten about break dust. There's very, VERY little on either of those cars. Based on that and what XM owners have posted here, I think the hybrid drive likely largely mitigates the brake dust factor. |

IMHO: CCB's are a must for ANY street car where you want to keep the wheels clean...

"Ceramic" pads don't get the job done. You still have iron rotors and friction still generates iron brake dust.

it's way better, I'd say like 80-90% improved. I kept the stock rears on for awhile and the difference between front and rear wheels is hilarious after a few hundred miles, even though the rears are much smaller pads.

"Dustless" pads help a ton but I would be lying if i said they still don't generate a lot of dust. I had the isweep and now EBC Reds and they help alot but i still find myself cleaning the wheels almost daily because OCD. They also help with noise. My oem pads sounded like a old school bus where as the aftermarket pads are silent 99% of the time.
I'm only considering ticking off the CCB option for two reasons 1) less brake dust and 2) they look awesome. I can't stand dirty wheels so i tend to wipe my wheels down almost every day in my garage. Not having to do that is a game changer for me.
