To me, it seemed like there were a couple different monsters. The one you see when they are in the helicopter looks like a bat with a long torso. The one climbing the buildings looks like the dragon thing from the game "Rampage".

Just my take on things.

The more and more I do research on this movie, the more Im loving the idea that you have no idea. This movie provokes more thought and debate than any movie in a long time. Why? Because every movie out there gives you everything you need to know to sit through the movie and walk away from it going "yeah, so thats how it went". This movie is completely fascinating as its getting everyone to talk to each other about what they think.

Check this site I just came across http://www.1-18-08.com/

I'm sure most video recorders have a 5 hour or longer life.
(Not to mention that it could be digital with 40GB+ of memory.)

And when was the camera supposed to break?? At the end?? It did, and thats why it stopped recording. The tape/hard drive was left intact.

Like I said again, Live Free/Die Hard.. This type of movie isn't for everyone.

Thank you for reinforcing all of my posts, thank you for showing me that most people on here have a hard time understanding things. I now wonder why I continue to come to these forums..

I also never said that they said bad stuff about the movie. I watched A Beautiful Mind before I even knew they had it on T.V. as well. I'm sure that A Beautiful Mind is well above Pi and Requiem for a Dream, so I'll have to go rent them both now. (I've heard requiem is nothing but drugs, WHAT A PLOT!!!)
No one ever told me to either. As I stated it is not a well known movie, but those who know of it say it is good. Also it was made in 1997 so a 10 year old movie isn't exactly going to get talked about unless it was widely known.

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/pi/

Secondly you really should rent those two movies if you already think a beautiful mind is better. haha that movie was a joke.

Also requiem for a dream is about drugs. It is about how it destroys lives and the effects. It is known as one of the most realistic and hard hitting movies.

Read up on it first. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/requiem_for_a_dream/

I think both those movies are great. And they are complete opposites especially the way they are directed. You wouldnt expect they are by the same guy. Which in my eyes shows skill and a fresh mind. I can write about the same shit over again doesnt mean I'm a good writer.

mmm, you prove your movie ignorance. Granted Tim Burton has become known for a specific genre. But that is because that is what he is into and because he just likes doing that over and over.

Appeals to goths only? Yea, thats why his movies do well? Way to just generalize.

I just saw Sweeney Todd because my girlfriend wanted too. I wasn't to into the singing but I wont lie it was a decent film especially with the singing. Tim burton has lost his touch but still isn't half bad.

haha, ok he only has directed a few movies. He has done way more co-producing and helping out with other movies.

So 3 movies out of maybe 6 or 7 that are good are good odds.

Also those 3 movies especially the first 2 are amazing and have started so many new ways of filming and have always been praised.

Why would anyone waste money on a BMW at 19 anyway??
I'm sure most people want them for the 'status' that comes with it, and also the thought that maybe they will pick up more chicks/look more attractive.

When did I assume anyone would care if I left? You seem to always make shit up either by not understanding me or making it up on purpose. Never implied anyone would care if i left.

You were the one stating how you might leave cus of all the idiots. Why even state it? Just leave.

And again contrary to what I might think about building relationships over forums? I hope that wasn't directed towards me. When the hell did I ever say that. Even though nowadays you really can so yet again you are wrong.

Oh wow yet again you are generalizing how people only want it for the status. Maybe not cus its a good car, great handling, sporty and looks good.

Also what is wrong with getting pretty girls? And if you are hating on BMW owners so much, again why the fuck are you here?

Most people that like his movies are goth/of that style.. I know this for a fact because out of all of my friends, the only ones that like his movies are the ones that are into the goth type scene. All of my friends that like them seem to think exactly the same as well, and act almost exactly the same. They seem to dislike most other types of movies, and their list of favorites consists almost solely of ones morbid/from the norm. To me they are closed minded.. My best friend that I have known my entire life fits into that category, and all of his favorite movies are exactly the same.. Corpse Bride, Nightmare Before Christmas, etc.. He actually went out and bought that entire box set with Death Proof/Planet Terror, and all of these other movies almost exactly the same without seeing them. Why?? Just because of the style of movie. I no longer take recommendations for movies from him, because 80% of the stuff he tells me to watch is terrible. IMO, almost everyone that is into those types of movies has no taste at all. I'll watch any type of film and if it's good I'll add it to my list of favorites/buy it. It seems like everyone just hears the name Tim Burton now a'days and they are like, "OMFGGG I have to go see that movie", without even hearing anything about it. THAT is how bad it has gotten. I see no quality in Tim Burton's work. He just slaps the most morbid stuff he can think of into a movie, and people go and see it just because of that. I liked a lot of the filming style in Sweeney Todd, but thats about it.

I'm here because I like the car, not what 'comes with it'.. The M3 to be precise, has been my favorite car since I was a little kid. I however dislike most BMW drivers because they all seem to get the car for the same reason. I don't get the people who say this movie "makes you think." It was an Ok movie, but c'mon, it was as basic as it gets.

The concept of this movie is very, very simple. Make a low budget, low content film with a movie trailer that draws enough people to surpass the measly $30 million in production costs. They generated hype through a great teaser and now the studio is sitting back and enjoying the fact that they have already made back their money x 2.

If someone could enlighten me as to any point in the movie where it takes an intellectually stimulated person to figure out what is going on, I am all eyes.

Summary:

1. Video camera operated by the stereotypical wingman who has some stupid/funny commentary.
2. Unexplained monster attacks NYC.
3. Cast of no-name, young, good looking people.

Am I missing anything?

Driving back from the movie, one of my passengers suggested that the director was playing off the 9/11 attacks with alot of the scenes of sky scrapers collapsing and dust filling the streets.

I could see where he was coming from, but I am not a big believer in having to be so hyper-sensitive about that kind of thing.

Because some of the kids you know are gay and only watch the same kind of movies means thats all the people that like Tim Burton films? You think your life is exactly like the whole world? As stated I am nowhere near a goth yet I like many of Tim Burton's films.

Granted his recent films are nowhere near the level of his old ones but still are decent.

And yet again you generalize about BMW drivers, how many BMW owners have you met? If less than 100 then your judgement call is so stupid.

You need to grow up and realize not everyone/everything is the same. Because a few things are the same does not justify generalizing a whole group.

I'm done with this anyways. Unless you can bring something up that isnt the same bullshit of you generalizing then there is no point on talking.
